A nother non-call that no one noticed

I've said it many times.... The refs do not make that call for Brady. They will let Brady get illegally hit all game unless it's so blatantly late they have no other choice but to throw the flag.

Another blown call--if I'm not mistaken, when Brady ran out to the sideline, the "tackle" was a textbook late hit: there was no contact on Brady at all until he was already out of bounds.

That was the first down play. I noticed that as well. The defender grabbed Brady's ankle when he was stepping out of bounds.

Hey, at the end of the game, did you see Asante get taken down by his face mask?

Man, that was brutal. Not that it mattered at that point, but how in the heck do you miss that if you are a ref?

I think it was James Sanders, and he didn't get taken down, he was whipped down by the facemask.

And what about Moss getting his jersey pulled off his shoulder pads and not getting a call?

Its getting to the point where if Moss is not completely wide open in the endzone, its going to be OPI

It was James Sanders, and yes, it was BS. The penalties that directly put a player's safety in jeopardy are the ones that should be called EVERYTIME.

That doesn't qualify as a helmet to helmet hit. His head is right at Brady's chest and the impact causes brady's head to move which results in the helmet contact.

Like I said in another thread, the Eagles generally get the benefit from the officiating crew late in the season.

In the Skins game a couple of weeks ago, they were able to make a comeback b/c Reggie Brown got away with a pushoff on his TD, and Laron Landry was held on Westbrook's game winning TD. Otherwise, the Kolb era would have begun last week.

Let's not forget the late hit on Brady when he ran out of bounds.

I jumped up and said "Where's the flag on that?" when it happened.

I agree with this. It was non-intentional. He didn't stand up and whack Brady with his helmet. His head came in chest level, and he just got a good lick in on Brady.

Now the Sanders non-call, I was hoping for a 15yd penalty and then kneel one play, take a TO with 1 sec left and then let Ghost put more point on the board. That was call that should have happened. It looked painful, even though he got back up.

Oh well, I guess we'll all have to drink the "it is what it is" kool-aid and just deal with it. NE's been getting the shorter end of the stick by the refs this season, more so then other teams for sure. I just highly doubt it's gonna change at all.

His head hit at Brady's chest? Wouldn't that be spearing?

I thought you had to lead with the shoulder.

Now you're just fishing. He wrapped him up and hit him square. It was a fair hit. He didn't take a cheap shot, he didn't spear, he didn't do helmet to helmet...

Hey, with all the "must kill Brady" talk in the media, I get picky.

Can I just say though, kudos to Brady for getting right back up from that hit. That was the hardest hit he's taken all year.

You are correct, but the other ones mentioned here (tripping Brady when OOB and the facemask slam of Sanders) were both missed calls.

This game doesn't even hit my top 20 worst officiated games since 2004 began, though.

That big hit/sack on Brady was helmet to helmet contact.

Check it out:
Helmet to Helmet contact is a 15 yard penalty (click here)

Good catch BCLAFF. I saw the jersey pull by the guy covering Moss that wasn't called. I saw the phantom offensive pass interference that cost the Patriots a TD. I also TIVO'd the holding call on the run back, against Washington. HE HELD NOBODY! However, I missed this one. Good job.

I'm sure the head of officiating will be on the NFL Network describing how these blown calls/lack of calls were actually correct, because it was the last Sunday of the month after a Thanksgiving, when the moon was in alignment with Gemini.

Brady didnt get spared on that play, but Welker got speared a couple of times in the game by Sheperd and Dawkins.
