They played their worst game of the season against a team that played its best game of the season and still won. It's not encouraging, but it didn't "expose" them either. Anyone that didn't realize that our LBs are slow before now shouldn't be in the NFL in any capacity anyways.

The widespread usage of empty backfields meant that the Eagles didn't have to respect the run, something McDaniels might want to keep in the back of his head when facing great defenses in the next two weeks (Baltimore, Pittsburgh).

Not to nitpick but I don't think the Ravens have a great defense anymore. They've given up 30+ two weeks in a row, including today against a Philip Rivers-led offense.

The Patriots DO need to reprogram and rethink their offense and defense packages. The gameplan this week almost lost it for them.
McDaniel has to think of ways to get Moss involved early. A hot Moss makes the offense work so MUCH BETTER because of what his presence creates.

I think the Patriots can STILL got 16-0, it's just not going to be easy for them. They're going to have to rethink some things, like defending the in cut rout, and they're going to need to make their offense multidimensional so defenses can't load up vs the pass and Randy Moss.

Ugh. Why do people expect that the Patriots are going to play this poorly every game the rest of the way? Not going to happen. Reality: they played their worst and still won. Plus from a scheming standpoint, you never see the same Pats team twice. But if you listen to the mediots this week, you would think they lost the game.

Something else we've forgotten to consider: how many of us thought this thing was over at 7-0? Asante ran back a pick, and New England had the lead without its offense having to take the field? Seemed easy at the time.

I'm sure that, no matter how much "humble pie" get tossed around the Pats' locker room, they read the point spreads and - as in today's game - come in mentally unprepared. Once they took a 7-0 lead without any work, I'm sure a few players took a brain vacation. Hey, it happens.

It's called discussing the game ... something knowledgeable fans know something about. My nephew lives in Philly and he tells me how clueless the Eagles fans are ... he says very few know how to discuss a game.

No, remember they lost to A.J. Feely in '04. They ended up winning the superbowl. In fact, don't be suprised to see the Eagles lose to whomever they play next week. Although the Pats didn't play that great, don't buy into the hype that the "blueprint is out". If they blow out the Ravens, everyone will forget about the Eagles game.

Incredibly stupid article. Perfect bandwaggon think. The Pats didn't win by 20 points, therefore not only have then been lucky to win, but they have been exposed and now everyone will know how to beat them.

I haven't heard this since the Indy game.

So far all I have seen is that two teams have shown how to almost beat the Patriots.

Hey, I love the blowouts as much as anyone, but it is silly to think that the Pats will never have a bad game. Bad games are the reason it is so hard to win week in and week out.

Tonight:

Brady had a bad game, underthrowing and throwning behind recievers.
Our receivers dropped passes (Moss dropped TWO!)
Our O-line had a bad game
Our D had a horrible game

And:
The Eagles played an excellent game
Feeley was making great passes
The Eagles receivers played as well as they possibly could
The Eagles defense played incredibly well, and got great pressure on the Brady


AND WE STILL WON!!!!

But wait, read the article and find out how these scenarios will not only happen every week from now on, but even more so. Read how the Pats have been "exposed" and all talk of 16-0 will cease.

Well, we don't need to win 16 games. We only need to win FIVE!

You can play to shut out Randy but you have to have the personal to do it.Most teams don't.

As far as the running game goes.They only tried to run the ball twice in the first half.And when yo saw Maroney you kne they were running .Do you think the Eagles might have had a clue?

Don't sweat it, guys-like I said in another thread, the Eagles have been Jeckle and Hyde all year-they would look GREAT one week, then LOUSY the next.

For example...

They lost to Chicago at the Linc, a game where they got NO pressure against an ageing OL.

The week after, against a massive Vikings' OL, they managed to get alot of pressure(and knocked out Holcomb), and stuffed AD along the way.

The week after that, the Cowboys just smacked them on both sides of the ball.

The week after that, they have an impressive, come from behind win by scoring 20 in the 4th against the Skins.

The week after that, despite beating Miami, they somehow couldn't generate ANY pressure against a weak Fins' OL/rookie QB.

You get the pattern? When you think they're in the dumps, they'll supposedly proven everyone wrong. Then when everyone thinks they're back on track, they'll lay an egg, and all this talk of how they're finished comes back again.
