Here comes the "blue print" blather

For the coming days and weeks it'll be the Eagles blah blah blah from the mediots.

All of it presumes that BB will sit back and take nothing from this game. It presumes we're defenseless now that the Eagles have provided the "blue print".

So predictable. The only thing I'm concerned about with this game is the apparent serious injury to Colvin. Other than that, it was good for the team to be in a scrap like this, a fact that will no doubt escape Prisco, Florio et al.

Update: Florio already has the blue print theory on his "website".

Oh, we have already gotten the "blueprint" talk from Sportscenter and NBC. It is ridiculous. They did the same thing after the Colt game. The blueprint is your offensive line holds the whole game allowing your QB to complete a ridiculous amount of passes...(are you kidding me...no holding calls)...and you have your secondary grab Moss' shirt all night...even if his shoulder pads come out...refs won't call it...F'ING ridiculous officials. Sorry, but this game was officiated as bad as the Colt game. Philly played tough, but there is NO BLUPRINT you ******s....

I agree, Pats played like **** and Eagles were playing their hearts out. Because everyone knew before that you have to apply pressure at the QB to have a chance. Now the only blue print any team will take away from this game is that when they play the Pats they better bring their A game if they dont want to be blown out.

And it IS a blueprint. It is not "how to beat the Pats," but more, "how to stay in the game w/ them for almost 4 quarters." That's all teams can hope for this year. However, if they are able to do so, and get a break or a big play at the end, there is at least some hope they can win.

A lot of teams will try to do what the Colts & Eagles did, but they may not have the personnel to do so. Still, it's really about neutralizing Moss as much as possible, hitting your receivers hard & keeping pressue on Brady. Even then, he throws for a ton, but it's still a shot.

I'll be interested to see how the Pats do in the cold weather. I know that's what they're "used to," but that team is NOT a cold weather team this year.

Well after watching it done a couple of times, the blue print to slow down the Pats is to stop Randy Moss. Every time this happens the offense doesn't dominate like it tends to do.

Every 3 weeks since week 6 there's been a team who's supposedly figured out the Pats.

Personally, I rather have the media saying “You can beat the Pats, and here’s how!” then “No one can beat these guys, they will win this one by 4 scores’

Even if it were some kind of blue print things aren't that simple. You have to have the talent to excute the "blue print". Each team has differenet strengths and weaknesses. For instance, there's no way Baltimore has the talent on offense to attack the defense like Philly did tonight.

It also presumes BB will sit back and make no adjustments, content to let other teams attack the Pats the same way Philly did which is absurd.

Eagles let welker kill them. Loss.

There is no defensive blue print other than to get pressure with your front four. Easier said than done.

I will say on offense if you have a good back that the pats game plants stop you can exploit the secondary.

Also the biggest key is to make literally zero mistakes.

So yeah pretty easy blue print to replicate. Good luck Baltimore

I think the only team left on our schedule who can follow this blueprint would be the Steelers and maybe the Giants.

I understand what you're saying about the "blue print" talk.

Here's the thing... any NFL team that goes out there and executes their game plan to near perfection, pressures the opposing QB without giving up big plays in the secondary, makes big plays on both sides of the ball, protects their QB well (holding or not) and converts on 3rd down is going to win a lot of games.

The fact that the Eagles were able to all of those things and still lost, says a lot about the Pats.

Sure, the Eagles were holding like crazy on both sides of the ball and that PI on Moss was absurd, but look at the positives. The Pats withstood the challenge and they won the game. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

The Eagles played an outstanding game. A great game,their QB was off the hook tonight,their Wr's made all the catches,outstanding catches for the most part. They used the middle of the field well.

They should come away from the game feeling well about themselves. The great thing is we played a team that was running on all cylinders for 59 1/2 minutes tonight and survived the onslaught. Think about it. How many balls thrown behind or in the turf were pulled back by them tonight? Quite a few. Another horrible PI call against Moss with a nice flop by Sheppard.

I don't think this game was a blue print, it was a team that came to work with their lunch pails,played physical almost flawless football. If they are so good then why aren't they 11-0? If you call holding a team to 38 err....I mean 31 points a blue print I would hate to see what a picasso looks like.

Let them talk about blue prints and moral victories all they want. The fact is, the Patriots will shut this idiotic talk out, BB will chew the players up for the game they played, and they will come out next week, razor sharp. Thats what they do, and that's all there is to it.

Each game is different. Every opponent is talented. There are a million bluepints on how to beat the Pats. All the Pats can do is play 60 minutes of hard well-coached football and hope that when all the smoke has settled; they will be the ones holding the Lombardi trophy. All the rest of the stuff is just noise for the mooks.

There's a few problems I have with the "blueprint" talk. One is that the Patriots don't use the same O or D gameplans from week to week so which gameplan does the opposing team use? The Eagles played very well and thier DB's covered very well. Lito Shephard played well and the fill in saftey JR Reed played well also. A team would have to have players that can play the same gameplan as successfully. The Steelers can try but thier DB's aren't as good as a group. The Jets rushed the passer well against the Steelers, but are they good enough to do it again? A HC can have a very good idea of what his team needs to do to win. Maybe even copy wat another team did. But his players have to be able to pull it off. And the Patriots would have to run an O gameplan that didn't work well against that D gameplan.

Don't forget...they NEED to create stories to fill MORE airtime to produce more $$$ for the machine. I'm jealous that they make more than me and eat much better too!
