Someone please explain to me how mic'ing every single Brady audio call does not give other teams a huge competitive advantage, as much cheating as sideline video is?

Anybody can TIVO this game and match up Brady's line calls with the video play on the field. How is this ANY DIFFERENT from videotaping sideline defensive signals for post-game analysis?

You really cannot be serious...

SERIOUSLY, buddy. How is getting the audio call of every Brady play tonight (and matching it up with on-field video) so much worse than videotaping sideline video and synching it up with on-field tape post-game? How is what NBC doing tonight allowed, yet what the Pats did was sacrilegious?

worst part about it..its only Tom Brady and occasionally Manning

It's always manning too. I find it a little annoying too when they do it, but what are you gonna do?

My point is, how is getting every single Brady audio signal (which allowed you to match his words up with on-field video after the game) any worse than sideline video of defensive hand signals?????

is there a mic on brady / manning or do the networks just focus the field mics on them?

wow someone's bitter.

the whole country thinks you're cheaters, get over it. embrace the asterisk.

Hey troll, quick question: Can you name one quote where Tom Brady whined? Didn't think so. Keep convincing yourself that we're cheaters lol. Embrace your suckiness.

It did startle me how easily I was able to hear the audibles. There were two times where I could hear him say a player's name and that was who he threw to. Once he said "Wes" and Welker got the ball. Another he said "Jab" and Gaffney got the ball.

Yes, exactly. How is this harmless, yet sideline video of hand signals is worth being called 'cheaters' and penalized a 1st rounder?

Seriously, how is one case harmless and the other case worth a 1st rounder and 750K?

In all fairness, the defense can hear Brady shouting out this stuff in real time.

It is up to Brady and co to change any critical signals game to game and within a game. Perhaps NBC relaying the signals around the world will stop complacency when it comes to changing signals.

Personally I find listening to the calls fascinating, and am glad NBC does it.

Apparently Boomer Esiason on WFAN said the same thing this morning, that other teams can sync up Brady's audio with field video after the game.

Yes, the players can hear it, but COACHES aren't normally provided with a game tape with all this audio that they can rewind and analyze for future use. You know, unless they videotape it themselves. Thanks NBC, for cutting out the middle man!

That's kind of like saying that coaches can steal signals real time; they can but it's easier to analyze post game with it on tape.

Me too. I got a kick out of the one play when Brady said "Randy, something, something, something" like they're a couple kids on a playground, not just changing a play but yelling a name and saying "do this"; I'm sure it was nothing unique but it made me laugh.

I just posted this on the Saints board that I frequent and I baited one of the other posters to reply with "The NFL assumes teams change their signals week to week so it isn't a big deal." To which I said "oh, by that logic shouldn't the Pats have 2 first round picks?"

Fecking pwned.

The key word is "thinks".

I've come to the conclusion that the majority of the "whole country" is a bunch of idiots. Just look at who was voted into the White House. We have a president that can't even put a complete sentence together without screwing it up.

Instead of just believing everything the media throws out there, think about whether or not what they are saying makes any sense.

There is usually an explanation, that no one even considers, until after the truth comes out.
Once that happens all the "experts" will say "That's what I was thinking".

We will only know the truth if/when Bill Belichick writes about it in his book after he retires. Until then, it's all just opinions.

Opinions, when reviewed years later, are often wrong.
