I have been thinking how well it has been going for us so far. What about the other end of the spectrum. What team is the worst to be a fan for?

My vote: 49ers.

Atleast the Dolphins get the number 1 pick. Look, the 49ers are screwed. They have no defense. Clements has been a dissappointment, Alex Smith sucks. Frank Gore is hurt, and they have no receivers. Christ, they passed up Randy "bleeping" Moss for Darrell Jackson, who he even knows he sucks.
The team has so many holes to fill and it isn't going to get any brighter...because....

The Pats got their 1st rounder bwhahaha.

Washington Redskins.

There isn't a more loyal fanbase. Every year they are led to believe that they will be turning the corner.

No owner can rape a fanbase as thoroughly as Daniel Snyder. He hasn't left one dime on the table, either.

Actually, they have a very good defense. The 49er's also had their glory years. Things are down for them right now, I'm not one to kick someone, unless its the Jets.

Right now, I am a definite Fins fan. If those mugs can get it together and win a couple, that 9ers pick gets better and better.

I'm rooting for the opposite. I think it would be poetic justice if they went 0-16 in the same year the Pats top their 72 team. 19-0 equals more wins, tougher sked, bigger point differential, clearly would make 07 Pats the top team ever.

Pretty good argument and for that, I agree.

I don't think there's any NFL franchise it's bad to be a fan for. You can usually get it in pretty quickly through draft and free-agency. And the Pats/Colts notwithstanding, parity is pretty good.

That said, for varying reasons, I wouldn't want to be a fan for (in this order):

1. Atlanta Falcons There's way too much stuff going on there this year, none of it good. They're not the worst team in the league, but everything they do makes me scratch my head. And I think the problems I'm seeing extend past this season.

2. Miami Dolphins Same as above, in many respects. The problems they're having will extend beyond this year.

3. 49ers They've been medicore and bad for a long time now. That must be hard to deal with since they have such a great legacy with Montana, Rice, and the gang.

Buffalo. The possibility of them slowly moving operations to Toronto would be incredibly discouraging.

Yeah, the poor Skins fans keep getting the 'tease' from the local media. It's like the Pats under the Sullivans - No offense to them - where every year is a disapointment. When will the 'rebuilding' years be over? I empethise with them.

The fallacy in your thinking is that you neglect the perpetuating effect of bad owners and bad organizations. It's huge. These disfunctional orgs do not get better through draft and FA. Snyder in Washington, Old Man Wilson in Buffalo (game has passed him by), and Wayne's World Huzinger in Miami bring in management team after team, draft high picks, spend big bucks on FAs and still stink. There are many more. We in NE suffered through the Sullivans who managed to screw up the Fairbanks era and made bad choices with league number one draft picks. It's all about owners smart or lucky enough to build strong effective football orgs.

This is true. But at the beginning of the year, I don't see them as being out of it. I think that's the difference. I would've rated the Skins and the Packers about the same at the start of the year. Boy was I wrong!

I get what you're saying, though, and that perspective is valid too. There's only so much the league can do, though. And I certainly wouldn't be ashamed to be a fan of any team. Heck, I remember taking alot of lumps back home for being a pre-Brady Pats fan. And I took pride in standing by my team same as I do trash-talking now!

J.E.T.S. Jets!

The United States was in the middle of the Vietnam War when they last tasted victory. They don't have their own stadium. Their coach is a whiny ratfink. Their uniforms are ugly. I could go on and on. They suck.

i think 49 fans have sort of drifted towards the pats this season...not like completely changed thier teams...but htey are following NE a little more then notmral for another teams fans...

so i think they kinda of adopted the pats for this season, so i dont think they are thee worst team....

Bengals...... People tell them EVERY year how good they are going to be and EVERY year they just are not. I really don't like them at all and every year I feel a tinge of disappointment when they do nothing.

Sad, so very sad.

San Diego. Get mondo top echelon draft picks. Stock up with talent. Reign terror and "Lights Out" on opponents. Big media hype stokes your hopes. LT runs wild. Go 14-2 and have eyes set on SB rings and then BAM!! you don't even make the AFC Championship game. Your hopes are crushed and you hear the lamentation of the fans. The ownership panics and makes a fatal ill-advised management change. You try to put the best spin on it but in your heart you know you're screwed.

Then after dark months with all consuming revenge bruning deep into your soul, you get a 2007 regular season rematch with the Destroyer of Worlds the team that crushed your hopes and what happens? Revenge? Retribution? No. You get routed, embarrased on national TV. But wait, it gets worse. You go on a losing streak with the easily achieved division championship tantalizingly out of your reach. Your vaunted running game is dogmeat. Your Pro-Bowl QB has turned into a sniveling wimp totally without confidence and you realize the dark truth that you have a coach and organization that cannot and will not challenge at the highest level. LT starts crying on TV. Players lose respect for the coach. NOBODY has faith in the QB. Heaven, just briefly sighted last year has turned to Hell.

The 9ers got talent, and their D is not that bad. I do like Patrick Willis who I see as the next great MLB. I still wish P-Will would be in horns, but he is not. Clemenets has been good for them. The 9ers need help at QB, as Alex Smith has been a bust, and as you mentioned, Frank Gore is always hurt, and I just don't believe that Michael Robinson is a legit number 2 RB. I see the 9ers drafting an RB in round 2 and possibly Joe Flacco QB Delaware in round 3. If correct, you guys own the 9ers 1st round pick if it ends up in the top 10.

Like I said, the 9ers have talent, I am still amazed they don't use Jason Hill as much. In the game against the Rams, he was deactivated. I really like Hill and believe he has the talent to be a very good wideout.

Dolphins if Cam Cameron remains the coach.

My guess is you don't know a thing about Cam but you're judging him purely off the Dolphins record. Am I in the ball park on that one at all?

I agree. He's the best 0-10 coach in football.
