Can Denver beat us?

Denver's offense matches up very well against our defense.

Theoretically Champ would have Moss with very little safety help. If we can't run the ball against the leaky Denver defense, then we are in trouble.

Re: Can Denver beat us ?

I would hate to play Denver, their system just seems to match up well against the Patriots system. I was estatic when the Bears came back on them and basically ended thier season.

Do I think that the Pats can't beat Denver, absolutely not. Would I rather not put that to the test, yes.

Re: Can Denver beat us ?

I'm feeling way too good about this season to entertain thoughts of Denver yet. I'll hold off on that for another day when the possibility is more concrete.

But yuck, I'd rather not.

Agreed, for some reason, I wouldnt want to play them if we were 16-0 and they were 0-16, hate playing them.

Re: Can Denver beat us ?

I'd rather not have to find out the answer to this question, at least this season anyways.

Again, we basically had them beaten in their own house with a team that doesn't stack up to this one.

Bring 'em on. Bring 'em east if they can even get here.

the loss to the bears may had made thier wild card chances unlikely, but with some luck they could still win their division.

highly unlikely though. they'd have to almost run the table and they'd have to beat the chargers after losing to them like 42-3 earlier this year.

even so, if we played them, we'd win. cutler is still learning. they are not the team they were a couple of years ago.

doubt it will happen though.

No way can Denver's defense slow down the New England juggernaut. They just made Rex Grossman look like Joe Montana on his final two drives on Sunday.

The Broncos offense is legit though. It won't be long before they are an elite unit.

CHFF has a thought

EDIT:Mods please move this to the main forum. i posted here by mistake. apologies.
I do respect CHFF, but, ya think? Do you actually believe that the numbers CHFF crunches suggests that it will be so? CHFF has never always been right. They let numbers dictate. Thats kewl. They have proved to be a bit more right than wrong but... Not saying it's a bad thing but numbers never tell the whole story. Even when they jive with the story.

Jes' sayin'.

Denver does not scare me at all this season. In past years yes, and going into the season yes. But not now, they cant stop the run, and they really are not that good.

So Denver's been our kryptonite over the years: harmless to mere mortals, but lethal to superman...

But I do agree, we're at a higher level. That said, Denver is never a pleasant thought. If we have the choice of a Denver team that finished 10-6 and a Chargers team that finished 10-6, I'll take the latter. It's nothing to do with which is the better team, and everything to do with how Shanny's boys match up/play against us.

It seems we go into every Denver game thinking they aren't as good....

Seriously, if we met them in the playoffs they would give us a heck of a game a la Philly. Shanahan will keep our D off-balance and we probably have enough firepower on offense to overcome their secondary and pull out a close one.

I don't see a quest to be the "greatest" as complete without playing the Broncos. I know the "wins are all that matter" crowd will disagree but as a Pats fan, I have to know if our "best" is capable of beating those guys.

No way!

Still bummed with Rosie's IR placement....

No, they can't.

In the past, Denver's defense has matchup up well vs. the offense. This year they can't. They dont have the offense to keep up with Brady.

Denver can't beat its way out of a wet paper bag. You have nothing to worry about from them. And they're not even going to make the playoffs anyway.

They have an easy December, and all they need to do is go into SD and beat them and they are in. I wouldn't count on SD tearing it up late in the season with Nerve the Perve at the helm.

You're talking about the team that lost 44-3 to the Chargers at home.

The Donkees were one questionable call away from beating the Bears. Factor in the massive brain cramp that Shanahan and/or Steroid Boy had then it wouldn't have been close. Broncos O is finally getting in sync. The defense in playing inspired football. They made changes to simplify the defense line calls during the bye week. It is finally paying dividends.

How can anyone say the Donks couldn't win in Foxboro after watching the Eagles come in an play the Pats as close as they did? The Donks are a much better team.

Donks could win their next 3 games. SD could lose at KC or at TN. Thus the division could come down to the Donks at SD in a revenge game. I don't expect Minny a dome team to win on Dec. 30th in Denver.

And our '03 squad lost to Buffalo 31-0 in Week 1.....

EDIT: To restate my earlier post, the Broncos feed off the disrespect card when playing the Pats. But you never know, the Pats could be 16-0 and the hype could be around Denver's 5-1 record against Brady. Lord knows the media will look to talk up a team that has beaten us the most. That could work to OUR advantage, oddly enough.
