What would the Pats do if they can't trade it? They'd have to draft a player and pay him 2nd most on the team next to Brady. That for an unproven possible bust....sounds kind of iffy to me.
So what do they do? Oh, I know "they can always trade it for 2 #1 and a #2, etc". No, they can't necessarily do any such thing.
I guess they could just 'pass' and wait until it's about the 10th pick and then pick someone.
