Mcfadden had a huge game vs lsu and they have a very good defense. He had 210 rushing yards on 32 carries and 3 rushing TDs.I think he also passed 3-6 for 34 yards and one TD.We have the second draft pick right now it looks like miami will have the first but if we keep are second pick i think we take mcfadden.Miami has ronnie brown and ricky williams back to so i don't think they need a back.

I wouldn't be opposed. How can you not like this guy. Anyone know about McFadden the man or about his character?

There is a draft forum with about 15 mcFadden threads already. IMO Maroney is the answer, and we should not draft DMC.

He's a drunken Irishman.

lmao yeah not worth the money for a top 5 pick move along.

I honestly don't care. BB will make the best decision, what ever it might be. In Belichick I trust.

I've given up as well. I've wanted us to pick up many players that have turned out to be great. Some haven't. One player I wanted us to get was Cobbs from Arkansas. We drafted him. He was a horrible pro. I have put a lot less emotion in the draft since then.

Could you imagine what the Pats offense would look like with a premier running back as a legit threat behind Brady and our O-line. I am starting to come around to the Mcfadden pick.

Last year's #2 pick, Calvin Johnson got a 6 year, 64 million deal with 27 million guaranteed. That'd make McFadden just about the highest paid Patriot and contracts go up each year for the draft slot. What would that do to the Patriots pay scale? What would Wilfork and others then want when thier deals are up?

I would rather trade the pick. If that pick is McFadden, we may have a few teams fighting over the right to draft him. I'd rather get several solid starters at the price of what a draft pick outside the top ten gets than one stud player at the #2 price. McFadden at #2 would get something like a 6 year, $60 million contract with $25-30 million guaranteed. That may be a little steep.

not may, and not little....
that is a price not worth paying...

trade it, get a premier LB, the best in the draft....and a 1st round pick for next yr, and a 2nd round pick for this yr, and sign ALL the draft picks, wut it would have cost to sign only McFadden

The guy to draft played today--on the other side of the football for LSU. Glenn. Dorsey. Done.

Agreed, and it's great that he looked so good vs LSU. Here's to a bunch of players having great bowl games and work outs so that they look like future HOFers that teams think they must have. If there a a few guys like that then the Pats will get good value to trade out of their spot.

A year like when the 49ers got stuck with the #1 pick is an anomaly as that was just about the worst draft in recent history, and there weren't any players worth the money to be #1 overall. This draft is shaping up as a strong one depending on declaring juniors.

Me too. It's to the point where I'm not as excited about who we'll pick, but what BB will do with it. I'm also not ready to give up on Maroney (and Morris), but McFadden would look good lining up behind Brady.

I think McFadden will be a star. However, unless we trade Maroney, I think it will be kind of foolish to spend that much cap money on McFadden and Maroney. Plus, we can't forget Sammy Morris is coming back next year. I like Morris and Maroney as part-time players, but I would love for us to draft a guy in the late 1st rd(if we trade down), 2nd, or 3rd rd that can give us that "explosive" home run hitter that we do not have and who I thought Maroney was going to be. A Brian Westrbrook type. A guy like that would be awesome for our offense.

The #2 pick parleys into athe 9th and 12th pick overall. Any other team have two picks in the 1st round coming in this Aprils draft?

Or maybe, BB trades down to 8-10 this year and gets another #1 for next season.

I don't think the Pats should spend that much money on a draft pick, however, having two quality RB's on the roster might not be a bad idea.

It worked for KC when they drafted Larry Johnson. At the time, Preist Holmes was a beast.

Playing LSU in triple OT, with the one chance to score two points on a running play, who do you think Arkansas gave the ball to? No, he was on the bench. Previously, there was also a crucial running play to keep the game going, who do you think the Razorbacks gave the ball to? No, he was on the bench. If Mcfadden is the franchise runner some people say he is, why isn't he at least on the field in critical plays, let alone carrying the ball. The other two running backs had huge games and a high yards per carry avg. Kind of makes me wonder how good is Mcfadden. I pass, and trade down.

I hadn't seen any Arkansas games before the final quarter and first OT last night but was wondering if that was the norm. Kind of struck me as odd that he wouldn't be in there when all the chips were on the line. It also scares me that most of the carries that McFadden had (that I saw, of course) came out of the wishbone. I absolutely do not want to see a RB drafted in the top five for this team, let alone one who is playing in a completely outdated offensive system (for the pros). And this "big" back tops the scales at a whopping 205 lbs. No thank you.
