This game was amazing. Great play from both teams all the way down to the stretch. There was one player that really stuck out for Arkansas and that was Darren McFadden. He gets the game MVP. Flynn also stuck out to me as a great performer for LSU, it's too bad his national championship hopes ended with an interception. But there has to be one winner, and that is Arkansas.

What makes Mcfadden the MVP of this game?
Oh maybe its the 32 carries for 205 yards and 3 TDs, or maybe it was that clutch pass for a TD to put Arkansas ahead 28-21 at that time. How can anyone knock this kid now after witnessing this historic game??

Do you watch much college football?

Uh . . . because he has to have someone throw for him.

Really- the #1 team wasn't even undefeated. Each week #1 or #2 goes down - there are NO dominant teams in college football this year. Freakin' Kansas could be #1 if they win tomorrow.

Agh, Stop with the damn McFadden threads. There is a reason they keep getting moved to the draft forum. Means STOP posting them here.

The only clips I have seen of Mc Fadden look impressive until I notice that I don't see him breaking tackles. Evading people at college level is all well and good but unless he can beat at least the DBs for strength, he could have problems in the NFL. I admit fully that I am going off limited evidence, though.

Arkansas Backfield:
McFadden avereged 6.4 ypc 205 rushing yards 3 TD's and one fumble
Felix Jones averaged 9.6 ypc for a total of 86 yards.
P. Hillis averaged 8.0 ypc for 88 yards and 2 TD's

I watched the game, and there was a number of runs where McFadden looked average, but he was able to bust that really long one, and he had a few other nice runs.

If Anything you should have came away from that game inpressed with Arkansas O-line. They also could have used Felix Jones more.

LSU's Hester also seemed like a pretty tough runner, who was able to break a number of tackles throughout the game.

This isn't even close to the biggest upset of the year. Appalachia St. beating Michigan was certainly a bigger upset.

I watched the game and have no interest in McFadden. Hester will be a much better value pick.

Upset of the century??? Upset of the week, maybe.

My opinion on McFadden (they're like a-holes on this board):

He will NOT be a great NFL back b/c of his spindly legs. I'd much rather have a Travis Henry type (w/o the illigetimate kids and drug use), i.e., low center of gravity, powerful legs, than a tall speedster that won't be able to get YAC in the NFL.

Yeah, those young taller backs (A Peterson, M Lynch) arent doing much this year.

Marshawn Lynch isn't a "taller" back. He's nothing like Darren mcFadden, so I don't understand you're rolling of the eyes. Adrian Peterson is a tougher runner who breaks more tackles, and has a thicker lower body, so I wouldn't really compare him to McFadden either. let's also not forget the offensive like Peterson runs behind. You know, the one that helped Chester Taylor go for 164 yards the other week...

Lynch is 2 inches shorter than Mcfadden. So I guess 6' is your cutoff? He generalized all taller backs. I gave two examples that are taller and are studs. They have different styles, but any of the three "tall" RBs are franchise RBs.

When did height become a handicap? McFadden IS a powerful runningback. He was running it between the tackles for 5 yards a pop. And when the game was on the line he was clutch. 205 yards and 3 TDs!! What more do you want, for him to butter and slice your toast for you??

Agreed, from the way Sebman talks it sounds like only midgets can be good NFL RBs. That's completely backwards from the way most people traditonally think about RBs. You want big strong guys like a 6'2 220 lb McFadden pounding that pigskin on the ground and killing that clock. Not only can McFadden run between the tackles but he can also hit the homerun TD anytime he gets daylight.

Really? They look pretty similar to me. If anything, Mcfadden looks bigger.

If anything, maybe this gets Arkansas boy Jones licking his chops and willing and ready to give us Barber and his two first rounders for the McFadden pick.

Lynch a taller slender back? Umm, no... that guy has some freaking massive legs. And McFadden is definitely comparable to AD.

It wasn't the upset of the year never mind century, but after yesterday's mostly boring 3 NFL games, it was fun to watch. Even though therefs tried to screw it up. Anyone sse that supposed holding call on the LSU center?

Yeah, he is a bit thicker, but he's is tall. He's not a Travis Henry or Maurice Jones-Drew-type player.

I like McFadden and I'll be rooting for him in the pros. I've followed him since his freshman year. McFadden runs like ****erson. skinny legs, deceptive power, breakaway speed, fumbles and all. But not for the Pats. I'm happy with Maroney, and all Pats fans will be soon enough.

Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Ladainian Tomlinson, and Walter Payton say "Hi."

Those are the four best backs of my lifetime, and they are all built low to the ground.
