How Tony Dungy could finally outdo Belichick

Paper champions. Champions by virtue of corrupt officiating.

You can't expect kudos for the Pats winning and then not give it out when another team wins. That's incredibly lame. Show some class and don't make Pats fans look bad by being a sore loser.

No, no, no silly pats fan. This thread by it's title is an attempt to disrespect Dungy. That's my whole point. It seems that more time is spent on this board thrashing other people, defending either your 'rule breaking' or scoring, or complaining about media outlets that aren't fair to your team. My question is why does it have to be that way? If the thread was meant for any other reason, it wouldnt have started with 'Dungy can play'.

If there was a valid discussion to be had here, lets have it. Dungy lacks the arrogance and complete disdane for authority that BB has, as well as the lack of class and personality. That is what I was referring to as far as outdoing BB. I didnt come here to bash your coach, I can do that anywhere, just cant understand the point here.

And if Im moving to fast for you, re-read the content of this thread until you and I started debating. It's infantile.

Oh, so who's resorting to "personal attacks" and "mindless jabs" now?

You said outdoing Belichick in every facet of the GAME -let's see, how much does arrogance, disdain for authority, class and personality has to do with winning football games? Zilch. So you contradicted yourself there, unless you think being "classy" is the key to winning games.

If you want to argue for Dungy as "Nicest Coach" then you got me but "Best Coach" - you've got a long way to go and unfortunately all signs point to your boy's tenure ending in 2 months.

Dear CarolinaColtFan:

1. This is a Pats board.
2. I don't think 'disdane' (disdain) for authority is a bad thing, personally.
3. This is a Pats board.
4. The notion that Dungy has more class and personality than Belichick is your opinion. I disagree. I doubt Bill would pass ANY public comment on another team's business such as 'spygate'. I also find the personality of an irascible, sardonic, driven genius far, far more interesting than that of a bland, born-again beacon of piety.
5. This is a Pats board.

Well, it can be said that it has a lot to do with it. As in any profession, there are politcs involved. Players want to play for good coaches. Case in point is Atlanta, players dont like the coach, they wont play for him. Im not saying the players dont like BB, I am saying that arrogance, attitude and lack of respect do play a part.

And if his tenure does end, it will be on his terms I am certain. And thats fine, we will move on. We've had bad coaches before, and we will again I am sure, but I dont think Dungy falls into that class. If you were talking about Mora, I wouldnt even argue with you.

I don't think he can even do that even if he tries. And if he tries to Kraft and Belichick better object and have the refs stop him. If he gets away with this I am going to be pissed!
Actually, I see no reason why he couldn't. He'd already been through the draft so he's no longer subject to that, he could sign with any team he wanted to. His coaching salary would count as part of the Colts' salary cap, but there's no rule against it. He couldn't do it game-day, but as long as he did it by 4pm the day before it WOULD be legal.

That's a really good point. Belichick doesn't waste time talking about his own team, let alone others (and when he does it's all praise, all the time). To echo Brady's comments about Schotty "you don't talk about our team". And Brady made Schotty lose his job ;)

Imagine with me, dear readers...

Of course he'd get laid out on the first play from scrimmage and the Colts would lose by 3 TD's, but it would still cement Dungy's reputation as a saint among football coaches.

Yes, he would get cemented ...... into the turf ..... permanently:D

you have got to be kidding. Is this a serious thread?
No, it's not a serious thread. As the person who created it, I think it's a mildly ******ed thread.
Dungy outdoes BB in every facet of the game.
Clearly not a serious response, either. Thanks for playing along.

I am just curious, why are there so many posts here about the Colts? They are the reigning Super Bowl Champions, which Pats fans seem to hold in such high regard when they are talking about their team? I just dont get it.
There's only so much you can talk about the Pats, other teams are bound to be mentioned. And obviously, given the Pats/Colts history - and the Colts' successes in the NFL - it's natural that we'd talk about them more than, say, the Kansas City Chiefs. So yeah, you can take that as a sign of respect for your team.

Well, again, I didnt come in here to get into all this. I just wanted voice my opinion and I did. Thanks for the replies, and I see your side of things. I hope you see mine.
