I have been over to the jets boards to get a sense of where they think that they are.

Plus it's funny to see lots of long suffering but completely delusional fans spout off.

They are divided three ways. Some want to return to Chad Pennington and and draft better players to surround him in the next draft. Some question as to whether Kellen Clemens, a second round pick last year, with 4 starts under his belt is the savior; or whether the Jets need to draft a QB in the upcoming draft.

No one seems to have the slighted common sense here. Clemens has showed next to nothing in three games but in fairness, did upset a Steelers team. In no case did he display the flair of a future star.

Others say the Phish managed to score in double digits against the Cowboys while Clemens ended up -4. Driving the the Jets Offense to but One FG and one Pick returned for a TD for -7.

No one offered the simple observation that teams don't always have the opportunity to pick a QB early in the draft. The Jets are usually mediocre enough, but not really terrible enough, so that they usually pick in the range of 7-15 where they usually can't get a great QB pick. IMHO, A rebuilding club without an obvious rising star at the most valuable position, should pick a QB whenever they have the opportunity as such opportunities don't happen often. Meanwhile they should use the other picks to strengthen the Team.

Over the history of the Patriots they had an opportunity to draft Concannon, Plunkett, Eason and Bledsoe, eartly. They lucked out on Grogan and Brady who were second day picks. And Concannon signed with the Bears and then never amounted to much. Eason wasn't exactly a bust, but he didn't last long, and was only momentarily a star, getting the Pats to SB XX and the buzzsaw that was the '85 Bears.
Not too many opportunities, and not much to show for 47 years of draft possibilities. Plus the Pats have probably had more early first round picks than most too.

While it's fun to watch the Jets and their fans twist in the wind, where do you come down on their dilemma?

I DON'T CARE!
No offense Az, but I loath that team. Their suffering makes me smile. :)
I hope that they continue to suffer as long as Manjudas is their head coach.
After reading about that Gate D debacle at their stadium, I loath them even more. I don't know how other women feel, but I find it disgusting. That is one stadium that I will never visit.

Maybe next year I'll be more rational.

Re: Hated jaets and their delusional Fans

Hey JestFan78 show us your tits

really look at your quotes!!!! and look at the heading to the thread "delusional fans" and jet fans look down on other teams?? get over yourself moron.

Jets fans ARE delusional. Anything other than "This is embarrassing, we stink" would be blind delusion for you in 2007.

It is what it is. You can put all the lipstick on that pig you want, it's still a pig.

Delusion in what sense??????? Ive never came here saying that the jets are better then the pats?? You people make no sense.

The thread is about Jets fans comments on Jets boards. They ARE delusional.

you're free to say whatever you want...what can YOU possibly have to say that is of any interest to Patriot fans? You have nothing to offer here except the mewlings of a fan mired in the middle of a lost season.

Be easy on Jetsfan78. Evidently he/she is in the midst of a difficult crisis.

I guess....

Ridiculous statement #1:

Let's go to Giants Stadium and look at Jets Fans' tits while the team's getting slaughtered on the field.

What's next from Jets fans, "Show me your Mangina!"

The history of the Jet organization offers many lessons on how not to run a franchise. A detailed study of Jet mismanagement should be an entry level course for all aspiring young GMs. There is no doubt they should draft a QB in 2008. But to do so would be an ackowledgment by Tangini that they screwed up the Clemens pick, a 2nd rdr, and the T. Jones signing, a 29 year old rb whose arrival indicated a "win now" philosophy. Acknowledgment of such errors would leave them open to even more criticism, and throw their personnel acumen even more into question. Therefore, they will delude themselves into believing in Clemens IOT soothe their own egos and fortify their previous decisions, bypassing a true franchise QB in the 2008 draft. This will be folly, the kind frequently made by inexperienced young men whose eyes are bigger than their stomach. Only if/when BB/Brady depart will the Pats relinquish their stranglehold on the division. Resistance is futile.

Ya, but you'll still be sharing it with the Gmen. The Jets will always be that "other" team in the hearts of true New Yorkers. Free loaders. :D

Damn...where's my can of TROLL-OFF?

I left it around here somewhere.
