With only 6 minutes left in the game and a MORE than 3 touchdown lead, what do I see? Tony Romo STILL in the game. Tony Romo STILL throwing the ball. Tony Romo STILL trying to get a TD pass to TO...and succeeding.

I say again WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE. Not a SINGLE comment by ESPN on the subject even SUGGESTING that the lovable Cowboys are running up the score!!!!!

What does this prove beyond ANY doubt is that the ENTIRE running up the score issue is nothing more that the CREATION of an issue by ESPN. More proof you say.

a. How about the fact that a VAST, VAST, VAST, majority of players and EVERY opposing coach, have NO PROBLEM with how the Pats have conducted the end of games.

b. How about the fact a VAST majority of the OWN analysts have NO PROBLEM with the issue, yet ESPN CONSISTANTLY leads every comment about the Pats with their scoring dominance.

c. There is NEVER a comment about any OTHER team who might be doing the same things that the Pats are being condemned for. The Cowboys being just ONE example in point.

BTW- I have NO PROBLEM with what the Cowboys chose to do yesterday. I have a problem with the double standard that the Media, especially ESPN, continue to practice on a daily basis.

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE:  ;)

Here's what I have a problem with: T.O. doing press conferences after every game. He's not just interviewed at his locker like Randy Moss, he does PRESS CONFERENCES after every freakin' game. And, HE WEARS SUNGLASSES.

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

It seems that every team except the Patriots are immune to the media's criticism. If another team does the exact same thing, the media turns a blind eye. Every since the so called "spygate" which was also stirred up by the media to a frenzy when it was a simple case of signal stealing, it seems the media has been set to try to bring down the Patriots in whatever way they can.

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

If I were Santa Claus, then the Cowpukes' owner, HC, QB and WR would be on my permanent Naughty List. What a smirking, blowhardy, unprofessional quartet of douchebags. Go Packers!

They might as well try, no teams seem to be able to do it ... :D

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

What an outrage! Actually granting access to the media! And wearing sunglasses! You are kidding, right? Surely, you are not suggesting Belichick's attitude toward the media is the only one.

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

It makes no sense for the media to diminish their only storyline. If people started to hear that Dallas go for it on 4th down with the game already decided, and that Dallas throw deep with the game already decided, well suddenly people might start to question what they hear; and we don't want that.

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

The media has an image of the Pats. They are cold, ruthless, cheating, arrogant, dismissive, etc. So if some event fits the image -- even if everyone does it -- it's made to be an issue.

If it does not fit the image, it's an aberration.

The NFL does not want to see the Pats dominate -- it's bad for parity.

I have not seen this comparison, but in Bill Simmons style, I'll point out the comparison to Rollerball, where the rulers want the greatest player to retire because he is dominating -- too dominant -- and they need to bring back more parity to the game. They change the rules to make his team lose.

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

Why should the media think that the patriots are not cold, calculating, arrogant, dismissive etc? I thought that we were proud of those traits.

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

What is really happening is that the Patriots are playing the exact same way they have before, but because of the fact that our WR's catch the ball, run the ball, and draw the defense wherever and whenever they want, and force the opposing offense into catch-up mode, the Patriots just totally kill the enemy.

Against Miami, when the Patriots were in the red zone before their second touchdown in the first quarter, I joked that if the Patriots don't take a knee right here that they're running up the score. The game was still in the first quarter. At what point do you say, Tom Brady, we're taking you out because there is no way Miami can catch up in the remaining 48 minutes of the game, even if we play our unproven backup quarterback? THAT would be an insult.

Tom Brady was not drafted to do what he's doing today. He was just an insurance policy. That does not mean he's not supposed to put up huge numbers. That also does not mean that if he's succeeding that surely his backup must be as great as him! It also doesn't mean that when you actually put the backup in and call a run play with your 3rd and 4th string running backs every single time, and score I believe at least two touchdowns this way, that doesn't mean they're running it up. It's almost like we're supposed to put our 3rd string emergency quarterback in (and I think we have!) and take a knee on every offensive play in the fourth quarter (which would be stupid). And yet that those games were still "running up the score."

Mgteich, are you SURE you're a Patriots fan? I mean, REAL fans support all the scoring, the policy towards the media and the general awesome attitude of our team.

What exactly is it that is bothering you brothah?

Once again, ladies & gentlemen...Mgteich!!! Let's give our sour **** another nice round of applause!

Don't you get it buddy? We are proud of whatever our Patriots do as they run through the league in their dominating way. Hell, how could we NOT be proud to witness this one in a lifetime greatness? So what's your gripe pal?

But the cold, calculating, arrogant & dismissive image you refer to is just something the media CREATED. Now, if I were a Patriots player and I saw the media trying to create this image, I would talk to my teammates and say, "Hey guys, since this is the image the media has created of us, let's take the damn thing and run with it! Let's become this evil, cold, calculating, dismissive & arrogant team! Hell, why fight it? I think we can have some fun with it and our fans will love it, whattaya'll think?"

I THINK I LOVE IT!!!

HOW BOUT YOU MGTEICH? YOU MAKE YOUR COMMENTS BUT YOU NEVER HAVE THE MARBLES TO COME OUT AND SAY WHAT YOU REALLY THINK.

ARE YOU REALLY A PATRIOTS FAN?

there are some who get confused about this game and view it as the way we should live, instead it is just a game we all enjoy with all the athleticism, game plans, intrigue, gamesmanship and other subtleties... all it is is 60 minutes of football, and winning any way possible. It is not the moral standard our children should live up to, it is not a religion, it is not the moral beacon of our society, it is a gameplayed by mere motals, who want to win football games. Most of us love every minute of it, and are able to look beyond the faux pas of this team or any team to a bigger picture.. it is the NFL.

Amen brother. But how can you say football is NOT a religion?:D ;)

I'M STILL CALLING OUT MGTEICH TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

if we throw in Q4 with a pretty big lead, we are running up the score

if we kick field goal, we are running up the score

if we run up the gut and get first down or touchdown, we are running up the score

if we put in 2nd string or 3rd string vs opponents 1st team defense in 3rd quarter, we disrespect them and no class

if we put in 2nd team defense and stop their 1st team offense, we have no class

if their 1st team offense score on our 2nd team, the pats are not that good and beatable

how bout take a knee in early 4th quarter say we have a 30 points lead? we have no class and show no respect

if we go unbeaten, we are cheating

if we lose one game, they will say the pats are overrated and not that good actually

so just pick the poison, no matter wat we do will be twist and turn.

sometime i wonder beside the colts, does polian own espn and other mediots too?

It's crazy. At first, I would get so ticked off at all the negative press, but I am so tuned out towards it at this point, it has become quite comical. I know that all they're trying to do is keep up their ratings and beat this mule as long as they can.

Re: Where Is The Outrage....

I say again WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE. :  ;)

Ever since I was a child I have hated points. They are overrated.

Teams should win with defense and good manners. The NFL should seriously consider getting manners training for all of its players and coaches.

People like Dan Marino and teams like the '85 Bears should be disgusted with themselves for winning games with points. Points are from the devil.

Damn right man! He should do press conferences while he's working out in his driveway like a regular superstar! ;)

That was priceless...
