QBs - We really don't need to spend a high pick here, but a late round flyer on a guy with the physical gifts wouldn't surprise me. A guy like Sam Kellar, Joe Flacco, or Seth Adams.
RBs - I can't believe the amount of debate we've had on McFadden already...and it's No-freaking-vember. We're not going to draft a RB that high in the draft. I can see some day two guys. My favorite Faulk-in-training guy is McFadden's stablemate Felix Jones. Other guys in the middle rounds we could spend a pick on include James Davis, Kevin Smith, or PJ Hill. Of this list, Smith is the only one who is known to be coming out. An interesting late round flyer a la Justise Hairston is Marcus Thomas out of UTEP. Jacob Hester is one of those Brian Leonard all-purpose types, and Owen Schmitt is 100% football player, whom I think could replace Kyle Brady on the roster.
WRs - I believe we'll retain Moss and most likely lose Stallworth. We have Chad Jackson and Kelley Washington to battle it out for the #2 spot, and we could draft an WR in the middle rounds for some competition. I haven't been tracking Limas Sweed's injury status, but if he falls significantly, he'd be a candidate. Ditto Doucett. Andre "Little Reche" Caldwell has the genes and the experience in a Pro-Style offense to potentially help immediately. Late round guys include Will Franklin of Missouri, Jason Rivers of Hawaii, and Lance Leggett of Miami of Florida.
TEs - Seems to be a very weak class here, and Schmitt is probably better than anyone coming out. Jacob Tamme is probably the best athlete of the weak class. Maybe there's a small school athlete I'm not aware of that could be a diamond in the very rough.
OL - I'm a big Jake Long fan, but I doubt we'll be exercising a pick that high. Alex Boone has one of those tall lanky bodies that seem to work out well at tackle, and has nice feet and co-ordination for such a tall man. Duane Brown is another tackle on my watch list -- Very athletic. For the interior, there doesn't seem to be any blue-chippers. Lictensteiger looked really good the one game I saw going against superior competition. And honestly, there's no guards that excite me. Bain from Miami of Florida and Zuttah from Rutgers seem to have the athleticism and should be available late.
DL - My biggest concern is Wilfork here. We need to either sign him to an extension before the draft or find a possible replacement. I like Bryant from A&M. Chris Long is a player, but will likely go too high. I like Tyson Jackson for DE, but again, he'll probably go too high for our needs. Perhaps Bulmer out of UNC falls. We'll probably be looking at projects like Hampton's Kendall Langford or Gilberry from Alabama. It's unlikely either of these guys will be as good as Kareem Brown, but it's low-risk, high-reward time.
OLBs - Vernon Ghoulston is my favorite DE conversion project. He seems to dovetail perfectly with what our OLBs need to be able to do. If we move back in the draft to the 20-ish spot, I could see us taking him. Trevor Scott from Buffalo has all the measurables to make the switch, although I'm not in the habit of watching UB. Butler of Nevada also looks the part, with the added bonus of 3-4 OLB experience.
ILB - I like the two Big 10 guys, Laurenaitis and Leman. If Maulauga comes out, that makes three. Not much after that. Thornhill at MSU is a late round project-type. Jasper Brinkley is in play assuming he recovers.
CBs - I wish there was a can't miss guy on the board. My favorite is Ikeguwanu. Other guys I like are Flowers, Terrell Thomas, Dwight Lowery, Talib, Williams out of So. Florida, and the LSU pair Jackson and Zenon.
Ss - Not a lot of guys here I like too much. Most seem overrated. I like Demps, Reggie Smith, Castille and Zbikowski. Adams out of Michigan looks like a big guy who can run well. Bethune-Cookman seems to put out a guy a year at safety, this year's prospect is Bob Williams.
I don't do specialists. There....just killed 45 minutes. Feel free to comment on any of these guys, or add favorites that you've seen and think would fit in here.
