QBs - We really don't need to spend a high pick here, but a late round flyer on a guy with the physical gifts wouldn't surprise me. A guy like Sam Kellar, Joe Flacco, or Seth Adams.

RBs - I can't believe the amount of debate we've had on McFadden already...and it's No-freaking-vember. We're not going to draft a RB that high in the draft. I can see some day two guys. My favorite Faulk-in-training guy is McFadden's stablemate Felix Jones. Other guys in the middle rounds we could spend a pick on include James Davis, Kevin Smith, or PJ Hill. Of this list, Smith is the only one who is known to be coming out. An interesting late round flyer a la Justise Hairston is Marcus Thomas out of UTEP. Jacob Hester is one of those Brian Leonard all-purpose types, and Owen Schmitt is 100% football player, whom I think could replace Kyle Brady on the roster.

WRs - I believe we'll retain Moss and most likely lose Stallworth. We have Chad Jackson and Kelley Washington to battle it out for the #2 spot, and we could draft an WR in the middle rounds for some competition. I haven't been tracking Limas Sweed's injury status, but if he falls significantly, he'd be a candidate. Ditto Doucett. Andre "Little Reche" Caldwell has the genes and the experience in a Pro-Style offense to potentially help immediately. Late round guys include Will Franklin of Missouri, Jason Rivers of Hawaii, and Lance Leggett of Miami of Florida.

TEs - Seems to be a very weak class here, and Schmitt is probably better than anyone coming out. Jacob Tamme is probably the best athlete of the weak class. Maybe there's a small school athlete I'm not aware of that could be a diamond in the very rough.

OL - I'm a big Jake Long fan, but I doubt we'll be exercising a pick that high. Alex Boone has one of those tall lanky bodies that seem to work out well at tackle, and has nice feet and co-ordination for such a tall man. Duane Brown is another tackle on my watch list -- Very athletic. For the interior, there doesn't seem to be any blue-chippers. Lictensteiger looked really good the one game I saw going against superior competition. And honestly, there's no guards that excite me. Bain from Miami of Florida and Zuttah from Rutgers seem to have the athleticism and should be available late.

DL - My biggest concern is Wilfork here. We need to either sign him to an extension before the draft or find a possible replacement. I like Bryant from A&M. Chris Long is a player, but will likely go too high. I like Tyson Jackson for DE, but again, he'll probably go too high for our needs. Perhaps Bulmer out of UNC falls. We'll probably be looking at projects like Hampton's Kendall Langford or Gilberry from Alabama. It's unlikely either of these guys will be as good as Kareem Brown, but it's low-risk, high-reward time.

OLBs - Vernon Ghoulston is my favorite DE conversion project. He seems to dovetail perfectly with what our OLBs need to be able to do. If we move back in the draft to the 20-ish spot, I could see us taking him. Trevor Scott from Buffalo has all the measurables to make the switch, although I'm not in the habit of watching UB. Butler of Nevada also looks the part, with the added bonus of 3-4 OLB experience.

ILB - I like the two Big 10 guys, Laurenaitis and Leman. If Maulauga comes out, that makes three. Not much after that. Thornhill at MSU is a late round project-type. Jasper Brinkley is in play assuming he recovers.

CBs - I wish there was a can't miss guy on the board. My favorite is Ikeguwanu. Other guys I like are Flowers, Terrell Thomas, Dwight Lowery, Talib, Williams out of So. Florida, and the LSU pair Jackson and Zenon.

Ss - Not a lot of guys here I like too much. Most seem overrated. I like Demps, Reggie Smith, Castille and Zbikowski. Adams out of Michigan looks like a big guy who can run well. Bethune-Cookman seems to put out a guy a year at safety, this year's prospect is Bob Williams.

I don't do specialists. There....just killed 45 minutes. Feel free to comment on any of these guys, or add favorites that you've seen and think would fit in here.

His stock is rising really fast especially after the Michigan game. If he has a really good combine I could see him going in the 10-15 range. I'm not sure BB\SP would take a conversion that high if we end up trading into that range.

I really like Ikegwouna. I watched him against Manningham during Mich vs. Wisc. He got beat a few times but not deep. He ran with him well. I like the LSU guys as well.

I've been seeing the name Beau Bell a bit at ILB. I need to check him out. Also, ACL recovery depending, I think Jasper Brinkley would be the best fit here. Leman would be a late round, training camp tryout.

I like the list Dryheat.

Oh yes...Forgot about Brinkley.

What about

Trae Williams S. Florida- more of a smaller cover CB
Aqib Talib - ball hawk, unsure of his speed
Brandon Flowers - CB might come out early

Also Matt Forte RB out of Tulane, I think they draft him in the 3rd

He fits the Patriots system & mold a lot better than Laurenaitis. I like Jonathan Goff as a hybrid backer for NE as well, and if Rey Maualuga comes out he's obviously the ILB I like the most.

There are some differences, but I see a few of the same things in Vernon Gholston that made me like LaMarr Woodley last year. I want to see his actually measurables, and speed at the combine.

Quentin Groves (6'3" 249lbs) might be my favorite conversion to LB right now though. In another thread I listed a lot of the things I'm liking about him, but his speed really stands out. Groves ran a legit 4.49-40 for NFL scouts last year, which is nice to know since a lot of these other listed times are guesses/team fibs.

It's like how some of these LB's turn out to be 5'11 instead of their listed 6'2" lol.

Let's pretend the Patriots trade the #2 pick overall to the Texans for the #15 pick and the Texans first rounder in 2009. I think that's probably closer to where the Patriots will be picking. My other assumptions: Samuel goes, Gay stays, Richardson is a credible cornerback. Stallworth goes. Seau retires. Then, I would hope for a draft like this:

1. Jake Igewuanu - CB Wisconsin
2. Andre Caldwell - WR Florida
3. Felix Jones - RB Arkansas
3. Owen Schmitt - FB West Virginia
4. J Leman - ILB Illinois
5. Chris Horton - S UCLA
6. Dwayne Brown - T Virginia Tech
7. Marcus Thomas - RB Texas Tech

Okay, those are my thoughts as of 11/23. Fire away!

It is never to early to stick it to the man! or come up with a list of possible draft picks..

I haven't watched a lot of games but of the ones I have seen these players have jumped out at me.

ILB - Moffitt - South Florida - I want to see his actual size but he plays pretty well in space and can mix it up.
OLB/DE - Ghoulston - Has NFL size / speed
CB - Both CBs from South Florida, Jenkins and Williams.
CB - Jenkins, Ohio State, hard to say how much is system but he is big and physical.
RB/FB - Hester, LSU - A lot of LSU games on tv this year and he has made plays in all of them.
SS/Special Teams -Craig Steltz, LSU - More and more the Pats special teams are made up of Safeties, Izzo and Mitchell may be gone and this guy can plays teams and provide more depth at SS.
ILB - Lehman, Illinois - Kinda of stiff but can mix it up.
OT - Boone, Ohio State - Has looked good, and Barton from Ohio could be a good late round pick for a OT/G swing player.
RB - McFadden - Risky & expensive position, etc. etc. etc. but he can really run
RB - Mendenhall, Rashard, Illinois - game breaker
ILB - Laurinaitis, James Ohio State - Likely staying in school and may not be able to take on guards but he is very smooth and instinctive.
