He needs to average 323 yards per game to get there. (He threw 373 last week, and has averaged 305 per game this year) I think only Marino has ever topped this mark. Do you think he gets there? If he is close do you think they go for it? Nothing compared to undefeated or a SB win, BUT still would be an uncanny mark to have him hit.

Doubtful. All remaining games are in the Northeast and Brady never plays a full game ;)

I don't think he will make it. If he was playing full games then he most certainly would but he is often not playing in the 4th quater or are running the ball late. In other words our defense is too good to allow the opposition to match scores so we don't need to throw in the 2nd half with the same aggressiveness.

The Td record and completion record are well within reach, the yrd thing is going to be tough... But then again if you told me that week 12 we would be talking undefeated season at the beggining , Id say no way.. Anything will happen..

But this kind of flies in the face of what this team has been doing. He has averaged 305 per game ALL year. This team passes all the time, even when leading big and late in games. He has gone over 370 THREE times this year. Just by his regular average he gets to 4900. I'm not talking about breaking Marino's Yardage record, which I think is like 5150 or something. I just am thinking about cracking 5000. That would be incredible, and is not that far fetched at this point. If he just has like 2 or 3 more games like the Buffalo game he'll make it easy.

I lean towards no but I wouldn't be shocked to see a 400+ yard game against the Jets bringing up the average and making it possible.

Earlier I thought no because he wasn't projecting that high, but now I wonder. Whereas the Pats were scoring in the 30s earlier in the season, they've since kept raising the bar... in the 40s for a few games, and then, with the exception of the Colts game, now in the 50s. So perhaps Tom can average more per game than he had been... 323 per game doesn't seem to crazy any longer.

I don't see it happening. Marino's record is 5,084. Brady would need 337.5 yards per game the rest of the way to break it.

It seems unlikely, but possible I guess. If he were to have a couple monster games he could do it. If he were to throw for 400 yards in one game (Jets?), he would need to average 325 in the others to do it.

I don't see it happen, but this season you never say never. He can't have an off game and would need a couple more huge ones.

I think there are 3 reasons why Brady has a chance go above 5,000 yards AND to break Marino's record.

1. They still have that game against the Jets! :D
2. Brady has the receivers who could get him 200 yards with 3 or 4 catches.
3. Because they can.

It's pretty simple: If they want him to, he will.

I don't think he'll get it because of circumstance, but if he were to play every quarter from here on he'd get Marino's record.

For fun I posted the same question on the Eagles board. One responder said he thought Brady would hit 5000 this week against them. LOL

I'm going to vote no on this. I think our special teams gives us too good of field position, typically, for this to happen.

Dude, he is ALREADY just about averaging enough to get there. That is why there is even a pretty good chance. If he ad even 2 more games like he did in Buffalo he'd destroy the record. I think our special teams werwe good in that game.

this is the one record Manning nor Brady will ever capture...I think...
