IndyStar board feeling Patriots fans heat

I'm sorry, but that's not a good thing.

I agree. They should be allowed to talk about their team without Pats trolls harassing them.

It reflects badly on us as Pats fans, too, though if the Pats trolls on their site and anything like the trolls on this site, they probably don't care.

Trolls are like bulls in a china shop. What they don't break, they sh*t on.

Well it's people like you that keep us knowing that there are plenty of good fans out there. Thanks, wish we had more like you on Indystar.

I go to our forum to enjoy conversing about our team, and to be among like minded fans. I see no need to antagonize other teams fans at their forums. Some people just like to talk smack wherever they go and don't care that it takes the enjoyment out of the forum. I guess its tolerance that is needed

i've been on that board for a couple of years. the problem is they consider any post that doesn't canonize St. Peyton to be a troll. i admit that there are some obnoxious pats fans on the board, but most pats posters over there are just trying to talk football and have a little fun.

Yes, that's true quite a bit of the time. I'm "Bigchowd" over there. I never demean the Colts ( they have been an excellant team for the past 5 years) but I can still get attacked for just trying to talk football and state facts.

I think it's more a failing of the mods over there. They have the power to control the flow of content. This is what happens when they can't handle the job. Maybe they need new mods, or at least need to add some new ones.

I'm not giving the ignorant trolls over there a pass either but lets face it, they infect every forum everywhere, the forum admins must control them.

I go there to talk football, there are several intelligent fans over there. I treat their board with respect, like sitting in someones living room talking to them. You don't stand up and trash their house when you are there. Their Mods could do a better job with thread order....

Pretty much what everyone else is saying in this thread. Do onto others as you would have them do onto you. If we don't want trolls here, we shouldn't troll there, either.

Yeah, I never cared to read the board until this post. I only noticed two Pats related threads on the first couple pages. I'm not sure what the big problem was. And in one of the threads, a Pats fan respectfully posted about the Colts-Falcons game. The Colts fans replied by saying the Pats fan was a troll and how the board has gone down the s------.

I guess what I'm trying to say is every team has some fans that are disrespectful and every messageboard has fans from other teams.

I'm usually a "live and let live" person, but I totally disagree with anyone that feels sorry for anyone on IndyStar.

Let's see, 12,252 posts on how Brady is gay. Let's see, 12,252 posts on how we stink. Let's see, 12,252 posts on how they are the moral standard in football. On and on and on. Nasty folks. Name the negative, it was there.

These people (not all) have been flat out mean for at least two years. MEAN. And almost all of the posts they are talking about are started by COLTS fans.
COLTS fans, not us.

Now, their team is not so good, and sure enough, their problems are because of us. Oh, get over it already.

I stopped going to that moron site about 6 months ago.

Try colts.com if you want to talk to some intelligent Colt fans.

And yes, the mods actually encouraged the nonsense that goes on at indystar. Oh, boo hoo.

And just a last thought, I went on that site and read some really good posts from Pats fans. Really good, nothing negative -- otherwise you were banned right away. I posted there for a while, and found one of my post altered by a mod. I was so shocked I immediately got off the board, tried to cancel my account. Yikes, how about mods altering your comments. And believe me, I was never negative.

Indystar in trouble, well just make my day.

Cousin,
I enjoy the Pats and especially this year which is special. I'm thrilled at the results. It's almost personal when there are negative remarks made about the coach or team. But it does not change my day to day life when the Pats win and I'm sure it doesn't for you if the Colts win.
That being said, it does bring a certain community (geographical) pride that embraces this team for us in N.E. or any fans outside. We have a troll who is on our board every day and probably more than he's on yours. He can be trying and sometimes irrational to say the least. I know when over-exuberant Pats people attack your team on your own Colt pages, it seems to weaken our special start to me in some way.
I agree that your mods should keep these "fans" out. It's your Colts board not a bar room shout-down.
It's a sport. It's fun but unfortunately things happen like to that Everette kid that brings it into perspective.
I respect the Colts (not Polian!!!!!) and their accomplishments but we like to see the Pats get after you guys.
I can simplify this. We have been issued the "black hat" for what it amounts to aggravated jay-walking and Peyton is way over-exposed. So what do you get?.....

Some people are born to antagonize other people.

I'd like to stuff a rag in their mouths.

Trolling is very uncool. I don't mind somebody being an antagonist and I think boards should be tolerant as long as the person is respectful and makes some good points. But some idiots just go to other boards and post crap like Player A sucks. We've seen it time and time again here. I never troll at the boards I visit.

Some boards are like that - they only exist to talk about that team and their is no room for derogatory remarks, not even from their own fans.

I'm not condoning obsessive troll behavior but I've read that board a lot and Indy fans had been bathing in their AFC title game win before November 4th. A lot of threads and posts were simply to stick it to Pats fans. Colts fans seem to talk about the PATS more than their own team. So I wouldn't say the Colts posters are totally innocent themselves.

After November 4th that place hasn't been the same, it's like a funeral.

There is a big difference between the trolls that visit us and those of us who visit other team boards like IndyStar. When other fans come here, they don't see thread titles that continuously insult their team and wish injury upon their players.

Don't you dare say, "so what, it's their board" because these boards are public for a reason. No board would be that interesting without the interesting and healthy debate between opposing teams fans. These boards aren't about having a "Lovefest" that have nothing but "Beautiful" discussion on our respective teams.

Fans are competitive, that is the very nature of being a fan. That is why so many go to other teams' boards to read what they're saying and why so many come here.

However, when these sites fill themselves with messages of hatred, jealously and talk of classlessness, opposing fans have the right, and in my opinion, the duty to defend their (our) team by presenting a different point of view.

IndyStar's board is of no concern of ours nor is it our responsibility....

END OF STORY!

I agree with your opinion 100%. There is nothing wrong with presenting a different point of view or, as is the case with Patriots fans who visit other sites, defending the honor of your team.

Anyone like the Eagles fan last night who came here to post pornography and post blatantly vulgar & violent comments is absolutely unaccesptable.

It would be great if there was a board where evryone posted reasonable, rational, objective comments and all respected each other. As far as I know there isn't obe like that. I don't go to others teams boards, even to look, and usually don't pay attention to other teams fans here. That's just me, and I don't expect others to dothe same and support others rights to do what they want.
