The latest BS story from PFT, Florio makes the point that Gostowski has never made field goals during the pressure of the playoffs and questions whether he'll be ready to go when the pressure's on.

He'd be making a great point - except for the fact that Gostowski made it through last year's playoffs with flying colors showing everyone that he's got the cool kicker blood we hopefully won't need.

Regardless of missing that tiny little fact - is there anyone here who wishes we had AV as our kicker right now?

WILL GOSTKOWSKI BE READY TO GO?

As we (and others, but not many) continue to be troubled by the decision of Pats coach Bill Belichick to eschew (gesundheit, Tiki) field goals with comfortable leads in hand, we've finally come up with a strategic reason to consider kicking the periodic three-pointer.

If, by some strange and odd twist of fate, Pats kicker Stephen Gostkowski is called upon to nail a key kick in the postseason, will he be ready to deliver?

The forgotten man on the Pats' roster is a second-year player. He hasn't made (or even attempted) the kind of critical (i.e., Super Bowl-winning) kicks that secured for his predecessor a spot in Canton.

So will Gostkowski be able to come through in the clutch? If he can't, the obvious question will be whether those lost opportunities during the regular season set the stage for failure.

But who are we kidding? No one is going to stay within three touchdowns of the Pats.

Well by the looks of things he wont have 2 with the way were dominating teams.

pretty sure he was automatic in playoffs last year

Florio is dumb on two levels. One, Gostkowski did kick in the clutch, FGs in last year's playoffs and @ Indy this year.

Also, how will kicking a FG when up 49-10 prepare him for kicking in the clutch?

Florio ought to be on Around the Horn. He is Bill Plasike Jr.

Don't forget Gost hit the "Game Winner" against the Colts in the AFCCG (unfortunately it didn't hold up).

Florio is a schmuck.
