Expect to start seeing spygate a virtual whimper of the past. It's human nature... people want to witness something very special and be able to say "I was there when..." I've noticed in the last week many, many people jump aboard the Pats bandwagon for '07. The sheer awesomeness of this team so far is dwarfing all of the pre-salary cap teams with their margin of victory at an unfathomable 25 points per game. This reminds me of when everyone in the nation was rooting for the 96-97 Bulls to get 70 wins and for Jordan to win another one. While we are certainly not as beloved as a Jordan team, I'm starting to get the same take here. People are tuning in merely to see how much this team will spank their opponent.

The question now is this:

Is the best SPORTS team of all time?

96-97 Bulls
27 Yankees
07 Patriots?

If they go undefeated and march through the playoffs like the the reg. season, they will be at least in discussion as thee best sports team for a season of alltime in all sports.

Single season, I would definitely say yes.

86 Celtics were a far better team than that Bulls squad.

Agreed. I was always pissed that this Celtics team didn't get the chance to knock off the Lakers that year.

We'll see who jimps on the bandwagaon...esp the Patriot haters..IF some of them do, they should be thrown off. I noticed Schlereth had a lot of good words for the team.. a far cry from his words 7-8 weeks ago. I am sure there are many more to follow.

I wouldn't hold my breath while waiting for the bandwagon to fill.

There's still a lot of hate emanating from the 4-letter network, esp. toward BB. Schlereth didn't like running up the score vs. Buffalo, and on Around the Horn, Bill Plaschke enthusiastically admitted his hatred for the HC of the NEP.

Fact is, most outsiders would love to see the bandwagon jump off a cliff and burn to ashes, with BB inside.

Why do people want this team to be loved? I love the fact that the Pats are hated. I love celebrating victories knowing that other fans and 99% of the media is ticked off and angry because we can't be stopped. I love being the bad guy. It makes it much more fun. I'd rather have the bad guy Raiders image anyday of the week instead of the good guy Colts image. Like Scarface says, "You'll never see a Bad Guy like this again!". :D

Excuse me? You must be new to Boston.

The 87 Lakers and 86 Celtics would have beaten the 97 Bulls in 5 or 6. I respect the Bulls for winning 6 out of 8, but their best team wouldn't have touched the best Celtics or Lakers teams from the 80's.

I've got to laugh at these single year best team evers. I think Sports Illustrated picked the 1967 Sixers as the best ever.

1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969

LO freakin' L!!11

You might have heard of John Havlicek? He came off the bench for this team starting in 1962.

I remember Walton's comment that the toughest games they had were in practice and that the subs (Walton, Sichting, Wedman, carlisle and...) could have won 50 games.......
Still I think the 60's Celtics were more dominant year after year after year..
11/13 never before nor since....
