Brady looks like he spent the day at a spa after every game... He's only been sacked 10 times in 10 games... The Pats' top 3 runners have each averaged 4.5+ yards per carry. The team as a whole has averaged 4.1 yards per rush.

I think it's safe to say this offensive line is one of the best in the history of the NFL...

Thoughts?

Re: Pats offensive line... Best ever?

This is the greatest Offense ever. The ENTIRE offense as a unit is better than any other in the history of the NFL. The best QB, O-line, WR, TE, (ok, not RB...).

Re: Pats offensive line... Best ever?

I stated in another thread I thought the offensive line was this year's MVP.

It gets better when they have to cover Moss, Stallworth and Welker.

I would have to say that the starting point of the best OL ever is the team that scored the most points ever. Then include for the argument others that were close to the most points. From there you can argue one OL vs another based on who the skill position guys were, etc.
I would have to say, unless the difference is small in point scored you would have a hard time convincing me that the best isnt the team that scored the most.

After all, no offense can do anything without the OL.

So I'd say, yes, since the Pats are well on their way to the all-time scoring record, this OL belongs in the argument as best ever.

The funny thing is after 3-4 games, someone on this board was arguing that they didn't belong in the discussion of best OLs THIS YEAR>

Re: Pats offensive line... Best ever?

Brady's insane pocket presence and ability to avoid the rush makes them look far better than the mostly average unit that they actually are. Logan Mankins and Dan Koppen are amongst the best, if not the best, at what they do, and Matt Light is above average, but the other two spots are pure vanilla. If anything, Dante Scharneccia is the MVP.

Cowboys of the mid ninties, hands down.

Definitely agree. Emmitt Smith was a great back, but there's a reason he's in the conversation for greatest back.

Very true...but in the beginning of the game the Bills were bringing the house. Somehow, Brady still had plenty of time to throw.

Brady does have an insane feel for the pocket...

Actually another Patriots team holds that distinction. The 1978 line helped produce 3,165 rushing yards. Still the league record. IMO that line is the best ever.

As much as I love the Patriots line the greatest ever is still the 90's Cowboys line.

Somehow lost on the game last night was that the Bills Did Bring Ita lot last night. And yet Brady stood in the pocket as though he was waiting to get on a bus....absolutely no hurry to get rid of the ball. He was so comfortable it was almost surreal.

Each separate element of the offense ranges from
Good (right side of O-line; RBs) thru
Very Good (TEs) to
All -World (QB; WRs).

Yet they fit and work together like a fine Swiss watch.
It is the entire offensive TEAM
that ... provisionally ... is the best ever.

I don't know what you mean by bringing the house. they tried a lot of different looks (the announcers mention four DEs as one), but i doubt they neglected to cover the aforementioned three plus Ben Watson. I'm happy with the pass protection.

Remember, these are the same humans that were horrible in protection last year, according to many posters.

With no personnel changes they're the greatest of all time?

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I agree. This line is great but not even the best Pats line ever. As soon as I saw the first post, I thought of that line.

If we're talking pass protection, the KC line of a couple years ago was outstanding.

What about the Broncos of the late 90s and the Hawgs?

I think it's pretty hard to rate them. I have no complaints with our guys. That's about it. They give Brady the time to do his magic, so what else can you ask for?

I would not say best ever. I think some of it has to do with other teams respecting our passing attack. But, it may well be the best offense ever. I would love to hear the thoughts of the Rams who claimed themselves the GReatest Show on Turf..This teams offense blows them away......

Not even close. They're not good enough in run blocking.
