Whats up guys?

Best of luck to you all on Sunday Night against the Birds

Take it easy on us, and hopefully we'll get out of here with no injuries, and hopefully be in the game for at least a few minutes ha.

Anyway, I've been looking around the forums, and have noticed you guys talking about the eagles O-Line, and how, most of you, say how bad it is. However, that is not the case. Donovan has been given, time and time again, a whole lot of time to throw the ball but guys haven't gotten open, he has held on to the ball far too long, resulting in the 30+ sacks that have been recorded against us this year. This is a result of the QB holding onto the ball, not the O-Line being so bad.

Eagles fans have been hating on McNabb this entire season, BUT, truth be told, he gives us the best chance to win, not only this week, but this season. Although he will most likely be gone after this season, he gives us the best chance to win ballgames.

A key injury for the Eagles vs the Pats, not only is 5 if he can't play, but is Strong safety Quintin Mikell, he has had a fine year filling in for Sean Considine, and JR Reed will start in his place if he cannot go, a significant downgrade in my opinion.

Anyway, the Eagles D has been good this year, and MIGHT be able to hold the Pats a little bit, led by Takeo Spikes, Trent Cole, Lito Sheppard, Sheldon Brown & Brian Dawkins. We need to blitz Brady, and hopefully get to him in time and have our secondary cover all your countless number of weapons.

if you guys can stop THE top running back in the NFL right now, Brian Westbrook, you'll be in good shape. But thats no easy task.

My prediction, I think it will be closer than you all think

With McNabb: Patriots 34 Eagles 20
Without McNabb: Patriots 34 Eagles 10

Good Luck, and take it easy on us hahaha

On any given Sunday.....

having said that....I belive the superbowl team that you fielded against us was far better than the one that will trot out on the field turf sunday night. The Patriots team that will step out is A LOT better than the one that beat you guys a few years ago.

With McNabb 48-14
With Kolb 48 - 14
with jawarski 48 - 17 (Jaws somhow gets in for a safety on Matt Cassell)

good luck this weekend, and thanks for the honest post!

Thanks for posting, interesting stuff. If the Patriots win 34-20, you can consider that "taking it easy" on you. I expect something more in the 40-50 range. Especially given the Pats long memories and Donovan's (and others') comments re: "getting BACK their rings." BB uses that crap to phenomenal effect.

I'm sorry, but when was the last time Donovan added 10 points in ANY game?! Your Eagles are all about Westbrook, a massive OL, and a competent defense.

Re: From An Eagles fan an HONEST Opinion & Perspective.. (don't flame me hah)

I expect another 40 pt beating, so 25-30 would be closer than I expect.

I actually feel kind of bad for the philly fans -- going into the season things were lookin' pretty good.

Nope, they signed Mahe back week 2.. he's gonna be returning punts.. if you guys ever do punt hahha

I forgot about that. That's going to open up a world of hurt. OUCH!

True
yes, the team we fielded against you guys was far better than this one, and we were VERY Close to winning that game. That said, we still have a chance this year in the weak NFC, and if we make the playoffs, I think we have a good chance to win a few games.

Re: From An Eagles fan an HONEST Opinion & Perspective.. (don't flame me hah)

I'll give you're defense credit (it's pretty good), so I think we'll only score in the 38-40 range. Your offense is not very good though. You'll be VERY lucky to score 17.

Re: From An Eagles fan an HONEST Opinion & Perspective.. (don't flame me hah)

I also forgot about this

Donovan's (and others') comments re: "getting BACK their rings." BB uses that crap to phenomenal effect.

BB may have this on the Wall in the locker room to remind them. I do not see any way we win by less then 25 pts!

Pats 48
Eagles 13

Re: From An Eagles fan an HONEST Opinion & Perspective.. (don't flame me hah)

This Eagles D is going to hold Brady and co to 34?????????? I think the real question is whether or not the Pats punt before Brady gets taken out of the game and Cassell is put in. The Eagles D has NO SHOT at holding this team to 34.

I love that aganist "pretty good" defenses the Pats are expected to put up "only" 38-40 points.

This is unreal.

Whats the deal with Mcnabb this year anyway? I always thought he was a pretty talented guy with good mobility and a strong arm. Is it the lack of quality recievers or what? I havent watched any of their games. Oh yeah and do you guys WANT Mcnabb to go and put Kevin Kolb in?

Re: From An Eagles fan an HONEST Opinion & Perspective.. (don't flame me hah)

Good luck to your Eagles. I think they run a pretty respectable organizaion and were a worthy foe in our last superbowl.

That said, I think the current regime for the Eagles is done. The good news is that they have some good building blocks, particularly on the lines, and should rebound if Kolb is for real.

In the meantime, though, the Eagles are a .500 team and are totally outclassed by the Pats. Not Sh*ttalking here, but Philly is no better than Buffalo or Washington, so I have no reason to believe that the fiinal score won't be in the 50-10 range.

Re: From An Eagles fan....

On any given Sunday the Pats will lay a fifty spot on your team.

A lot of the nfc analysis guys (I'm in dc so i hear redskins talk a lot) has focused on him being mentally tentative due to his knee/leg injuries. Could be a valid point since up until a few weeks ago he was still wearing a knee brace of some kind.

But I would disagree with the Eagles fan about his OL being ok. From the games I have seen; they arent that good. Yes Donovan has not had anybody who gets any kind of separation as wrs; but the OL hasn't given him Brady kind of time by any stretch of the imagination.

Then throw into the mix that he doesnt throw an accurate ball anymore. whether it is because of that lack of time or just generally poor mechanics I don't know. But he is usually behind, in front, too low or too high. Rarely is it in stride or right where it is easy to catch.

I think the eagles at this point are potentially more dangerous without donovan in the lineup than with him (at least for an average opponent). Against a BB defense - a young QB gets usually confused as all heck.

In any event. Eagles are simply outclassed. lets just hope for an injury free day on both sides.

Re: From An Eagles fan an HONEST Opinion & Perspective.. (don't flame me hah)

Say what you want about McNabb, but when healthy he is a heck of a player. If A.J. Feeley is going to play, though, the Pats will score 50 again.

Westbrook is the guy who scares me. The Eagles are going to wear him out, though. He carried the ball 32 times last week.

Great player. Imagine him in the Pats shotgun sets?

Andrew - what impact would you say the loss of Stallworth had on the Eagles offense this season?

I was surprised they didn't do more to try to re-sign him... the Pats were a case in point of what happens when an offense has absolutely no deep threat - and even in his limited appearances last season Stallworth kept D's very honest, and even allowed Reggie Brown to develop into a deep threat partly because Stallworth opened things up for him.

That had the impact of keeping defenses honest even when Stallworth was out injured.

With Stallworth gone Brown's stats have come back to earth.

Now the Eagles still have more of a deep threat than the Pats did last season, but still, I think defenses now feel a little more confident stacking the line and putting pressure on McNabb - and now that's come back to bite the team badly.

Your thoughts?
