Re: Pats unsportly against Bills ?
Both plays were very close the goal line. It's the right play there -- you give the guy a chance to stop you and if he does he's far from the end zone where he hopes to score.
You'll note that at the end of the game, with 4th and inches on the Bills' 30, Belichick chose to punt. Imagine that, a PUNT from the 30 yard line with no weather to speak of. Not a field goal. Not going for it. But I guess nobody mentions the "sport" moves because it's not good copy. You'll notice that once the Bills got the ball back, they sure as heck didn't take a knee. They tried to score. And one of the Patriots players got hurt on the last play. What's good for the goose . . .
One of these days in that situation, Belichick is going to have the team take a knee. Then all we'll hear is how unsporty that is.
By the way, the first supposedly "unsporty" play happened on the first possession of the THIRD QUARTER. I respectfully submit there is no such thing as running up the score on the first possession of the third quarter. If that's "unsporty," then forfeit the game if you're the opponent. Don't even play it if you demand the opponent throttle back with 25 minutes left in the game.
