anyone read this after yesterday's loss to the jags ?

"Some guys may take losing as just, 'We lost, but we still get paid,'" Tomlinson said. "As long as you have that attitude, you're going to be losers. Those kind of guys are going to come to the forefront and then they're going to be out of here. Guys like that don't last long around this league and certainly won't be around this team, and pretty soon they'll be out of here."

quite harsh.

It is harsh. But would a classy guy actually make those comments? I wonder...

I wonder if he would take less money to play for a winner???

I believe that the rest of the league would just quit if that happened.

I don't necessarily disagree with him. I'm sure if you heard similar comments form Brady we would be fine with it.

Maybe LT should consider taking a pay cut to come over to the darkside. ;)

Imagine LT playing for Belichick. That would be the ultimate eating crow.

Those are comments for the team, not the media. What he's trying to do is to separate himself from what's happening to his team. It's a pretty lame thing to do if you ask me. Why does the media have to hear that? He proves what trash he is with every game he loses.

maybe he thinks there are a lot of ppl like that on his team, (and it IS his team)....but who knows....

LT playing for hte Pats? i really wouldnt be surprised if the whole league did quit

If that were Peyton Manning speaking folks would be screaming that he'd "thrown his team mates under the bus." LT needs to stay classy and save his comments for the locker room and team meetings. What constructive purpose does dumping on unidentified team members in public accomplish? None.

I wonder if he's talking about Rivers

They have been plenty of examples of guys who said stuff like this in public that were lauded for it.

It certainly is possible that LdT has said this privately without the desired affect.

quite harsh.

He's an idiot. Every time they lose, he pulls crap like this. "I'm a classy guy".

This outburst implies "Teammates prefer money over winning. But, not me. I'm all about winning. I'm a classy guy, and a winner. When we lose it's not me, it's everybody else.".

He's long ago gotten real tired. Of course, I wonder if these horrible teammates would roll there eyes at the head coach when he addresses them during a game, like LT did last week. Hmmm.

i love ldt's press conferences. especially after they lose. i just love when they lose, period. this charger team has to be my least favorite collection of frauds ever.

If he's expressed his beliefs to the team too then fair enough, but keep it in the team. He's probrably making more enemies spouting off to the media than actualy accomplishing what he's trying to achieve in pulling the team together. I doubt he's a saint either..

No there's something brewing here beyond LT's comments. If you saw Merriman's lockerroom interview, he said the same thing almost exactly. They're definitely talking about SOMEONE and calling them out.

I'm behind this, for once. I think them both doing that IS singling out someone who is seen as a poor competitor/leader on the team.

It might be Rivers. And he might well deserve to go. They never should have done away with Brees.

Merrimans just mad because he got f*cked up by Jones-Drew.

precisely. That is exactly what he is doing...trying to separate himself, because we all know he is the classiest guy in the NFL.

Exactly. Merriman did the same thing. By saying these things and not explicitly mentioning yourself, you are saying that the real problem is everyone else. Wonder if LdT was referring to Merriman? Or was Merriman referring to LdT? Maybe we need to put them all in a circle and have Norv say "One, Two, Three...POINT TO THE PROBLEM!" That should work.

Seriously, you can complain about Belichick and his tight control of information...but this is the alternative. Sad.

Once players start the coach killing habit they become like egg suckin' dogs on a farm. The only way to stop them is to shoot'em.

The prematurely annoitulated Charger players never expressed contrition for getting Marty fired last year. Karma is a *****!
