I had no idea that Garnett was such a great leader!

I've been on board with this trade since Day 1 - though like many I understood we'd be giving up good young players to get him.

Statistically I knew Garnett was good... and I'd seen him play occassionally.

And like most around here I'm amazed at how good a player he truly is - there is no question he has the talents of some of the alltime greats in basketball

But I had NO idea what a great teammate, cheerleader and outright leader this guy was. I give Pierce tons of credit for having an ego and security that is willing to share that spotlight and responsibility with Garnett as well, but to see how Garnett has come in here, rallied the team together, taken younger players under his wing, been their biggest supporters on the bench - and maintained an outrageously high level of energy that is taking this team to new heights of dominance in the entire NBA...

Well THAT'S what's really floored me... I had NO idea Garnett was bringing such positive energy to this team and I gotta tip my cap to him and the entire team for checking their egos at the door and buying into this concept.

I think part of it is the "big three" knows that they've really just got probably three years together - and there's really no time to waste as even some of the best teams can fall short of the championship

But man - I just hope Garnett and everyone can keep it up... if he maintains this attitude and brings a champtionship he's going to be among the alltime Boston sports hereo's no doubt about it

... and I kindof get the feeling that Garnett knows this too!

Celtics win, beat Miami and remain perfect. They say you do not want to be on the bad side of Garnett. If your not busting it, he will be on your case and its not pretty. I'm wondering if that was the reason he didn't like Wally. Like you Joe, I had no idea the guy was like this.

Bill Simmons made an insightful comparison. Its like a close relative was hit by a car 20 years ago ending up in a coma, and who's now just woken up; but lets see how long they can keep playing with such intensity. April's a long time from now.

Garnett played with the same intensity all the time for the Timberwolves and they sucked. I can't imagine him losing that intensity playing on a winning team.

What all the analyst and media failed to see (how many basketballs will be needed) was the defensive side of the ball. This team plays defense. Everything else can be overlooked. The biggest improvement to the Celtics is the defense. Look at the boxscores and see how many players are bringing down rebounds. Garnett blocks shots like no Celtic since Russell. This team is only going to get better.
