I've seen two postgame press conferences (Dallas game and tonight) with Wes Welker and has anyone noticed how he can't carry on a conversation without saying "you know.." every 5 seconds? I believe I had him at either 11 or 13 "you know's" against Dallas and he had 9 more tonight.

Has anyone else seen this and found it hilarious? It really shouldn't be that funny but whenever I see him being interviewed I can't stop laughing at how many times he says that.

I noticed that too (how can you not, I guess). I kinda think it's cute, like maybe he's nervous? But I'm a girl, and he's Wes Welker, so there you go.

I've noticed and it's more annoying than funny. Hobbs has the same habit, but with a different phrase that I can't recall.

They can't all be Tom Brady. At least we have nobody on Vince Young's level, that guy is dumber than a goat.

Richard Seymour had the worst case of it the first few years. He actually used the rare double you know catchphrase. Yea, you know... you know!

i confirm the 9 count tonight
wasn't ricky davis the worst?

Actually, there are MANY people who do this...

it seems like "you know...", "uhmmm...", "uhhhh..." are segways...

Does it matter? These guys aren't paid for their speaking ability.

Ya know...Welker is pretty damn good football player.

James Posey of the Celts, not a guy to skimp on details, is the champ of "You know what I mean?"

Jason Giambi says, "...and like I said" at least 3 times during every post game question.

I'm fan of the XRay Spex song that goes like this, "Ya know, ya know....ya know ya know ya know"

I believe its a comfort phrase of someone not used to speaking publicly,BB used to be bad for that also, seems to have eased up on that phrase this year,he must be making a strong effort to drop that line....

I generally expect that out of athletes. When they come across as eloquent or good public speakers, that's when I'm surprised. Besides, the way WWW throws himself around with a seemingly utter disregard for his own body, there's been some josteling around up there!

You're not a girl and that sure wasn't Wes Welker!

My most hated phrase is "y'know what I'm say'n"

As long as the kid keeps playing the way he is I wouldn't care if he had the speaking skills of Lester Hayes.
