Click the John Elway interview video link (you have to scroll a few links down).

Elway praises Tom Brady, and says even before this year Tom was an elite all-time QB, and then Elway even admits that Tom Brady is a better QB than he was. Pretty hefty praise from one of the game's all time greats.

There's also other stuff about how hard it is to keep a winning streak going, and his experience with those championship Bronco teams.

my respect for Elway just skyrocketed, thats a man who can say that...oww

however, i do agree with HIM, LOL

Always liked Elway. I think if this year goes and we all expect, there will be only one name legitimately in front of mr Brady and fair or not, people are always nastolgic for the past timers which is why Montana will be held in higher regard.

That link led to a Moose Is Loose (on the Cowboys) video.

But I do believe that John Elway has always been generous with his praise. The sign of a confident guy is that he can call somebody else better than him, and leave it to other people to figure out whether they agree or not.

I sorta wish some Pats fans would get that hint and not be so damned thin skinned about some other QBs getting a little praise. As soon as one analyst gives a little praise to some other QB, he's announced to be "insane" or an "a-hole" here as if he doesn't get how good Tom is. They get it. Don't worry about that - they get it.

When you have guys like Marino, Montana, Boomer Esiason, and Elway calling you great does it really matter what Doctor Z calls you?

in the square of links under the video, scroll down, ull find the interview there

John Elway's correct.

He is still an arrogant pr!ck, though, for dissin' the Colts on draft day!

Do you think marino would ever say that? He is clearly jealous of Tom's SB rings.

Brady may be a better QB but Elway was a great QB due to his toughness, agility, speed and strong arm. If Elway was as good as Brady he would not have had the snot knocked out of him week after week having to run so much... perhaps this is why he wishes he was Brady.

Elway is awesome. One of the all-time greats. In my opinion, which is not that expert, admittedly, he was the best QB I've ever seen (until Tom, that is).

Do you recall the line from about 10 years ago, "What does the OJ and Elway have in common.? A slow moving white Bronco."

I think guys who are champions have an easier time praising Brady, they feel more secure. Marino would never do it, but even a guy like Boomer can appreciate what Tom has done with his career.

While it's nice to see recognition by an all time great it doesn't really mean that much. Brady's also said that he thinks Manning's better than him so...

Brady is better than I, not me.

John Madden just said on TV that Tom Brady is playing better than Joe Montana ever did.

'cept that joke doesn't work because Elway could run pretty well.

Brady is better than I, not me.
Incorrect.

"I" is a subject pronoun, like He/She/They/We.
"Me" is an object pronoun, like Him/Her/Them/Us.

You would not say "Brady is a Better QB Than I" any more than you would say "Me is a Better QB Than Tom Brady."

Thanks for backing me up!

Actually you are incorrect.
The phraseology is "Brady is a better QB than I (am). I is proper usage. The present day vernacular accepts me as common usage, but it is not correct.

Well that just scores more points in his favor in my book!! :p
Glad to see that Elway has the humility to throw that kind of praise around.
Elway is a HOF QB and deservedly enshrined there.
I'll always hate the donkeys but I can respect Elway as a great QB and individual. :p

You have a point, but only if you consider "than" a conjugation between clauses and not as a preposition. Still, you were not incorrect.

I still think it is inaccurate to imply Elway was wrong using "me."
