With everyone discussing Brady's chances of beating Manning's TD record, i was just wondering if anyone thought Moss might beat the TD reception record?
If im right, Jerry Rice has it with 22 in one season, and Moss already has 12.
Anyone think its possible?
Imagine this, 19-0, Brady 50+ td's, Moss 23+ td's
God i love this season!

I think Rice got 22 TD's in 12 games. Is that correct?

That's right, it was in 1987 when 49er regulars played in only 12 games due to players' strike:

The 1987 NFL season was the 68th regular season of the National Football League. A 24-day players' strike reduced the 16-game season to 15. The games that were scheduled for the third week of the season were canceled, but the games for weeks 4-6 were played with replacement players.

Didn't Keanu Reeves play QB for a Washington team?

Do you know how far away he was? Two hundred and fifty feet! Oswald was 250 feet away and shooting at a moving target. Oswald got off 3 rounds with an old Italian bolt action rifle in only 6 seconds!! And scored two hits....including a head shot!

Does anyone know where these men learned how to shoot? Private Joker!

Sir, in the Marines, sir!

In the Marines! Outstanding. Those two men showed what one motivated marine and his rifle could do. And before you ladies leave my island, you will all be able to do the same thing!

He could (Moss, not Oswald) reach the single season receiving of 1850 something yards or whatever it is. That would be a real accomplishment!

He's halfway there now and there are some weak teams ahead.

I don't think Moss will tie or beat 22 - More teams have been double teaming him now letting the receptions go to Welker and Stallworth has increased his receptions as well,so no I don't think 22 TD catches is going to happen.

but Moss is still catching the TD'd admittedly he is no Mike Vrabel but he'll still get his i am betting 21 td's going into week 17 and Brady is also close to the records which is why they stey in the first half of that game.

Well I think its possible but its hard to calculate the odds. The thing about a receiver like Moss is he has the ability to explode for 3 TDs in a game which can significantly change the odds of his achieving the 23 TD mark. Particularly if he does it this week against Buffalo, whom I suspect the Pats will blow out.

He will tie or break that record. However, Jerry Rice had 22 in 12 games? WOW!

We have 4 night games left, and Moss always racks up the numbers in those games so I think he has a good chance of reaching it. He may even break the receiving yards record.

Official gameplan against the Jets: build a 30 point second quarter lead. Begin second half with only seven players on the field: Brady, the OL and Moss. Don't stop scoring until Brady and Moss break the passing TDs and receiving TDs records respectively.

I think that's what they may do against the Dolphins. I'm so happy that Shula said that because now they will try to run up the score again. I think it's looking good for the records.

TJ Housh has 11 TDs . Moss has 12 and Edwards has 10

Any 1 of these guys can really get it..especially since they all pass a lot. Housh has 2 other good WRs like Moss

Why not go for Harrison's receptions record in a season?

Haha, funny. Moss doesn't run the short routes like Harrison and Cris Carter. He almost always runs deep routes so, if he ever sets the receptions record, he'll probably have 3000+ yards. :D

That's right, I forgot he absolutely hates going over the middle.

Like I said, Moss owns the night games. It seems like he gets at least a td or two every single night game. 9 more tds to the record.

was this thread started before or after the first quarter of tonight's game?

I'd say his chances are very good. But that's just my opinion.
