I heard its possible Welker may not play in this weekends game,He has been listed as questionable all week and little participation in practice.

Did he sustain an injury in the Colts game? or is this another BS report from the Pats injury report?

I think he has strained lips - from running his mouth during the Colts game. :)

Poor loser - Whining can't even buy you a cup of coffee...go home to your refrigerator box outside of the RCA Dome.

If running your mouth causes strained lips, Polian's would be in traction

 good one.. Polian must talk a lot on the Boston Stations, because we don't hear much of him at all.

Mike Reis of the Globe did an online chat earlier today and says he doesn't seem to think there's any big problem with Welker and expects him to play.

He was out of practice, no body part given, "team decision." I don't know if he got a pass, or (less likely) he's in the doghouse for something non-football-related, such as "You *&**** SUCK!" I doubt that is the case.

Strikes me that we just don't know, but that if you can't name a body part, you can't really say there's an injury.

Welker is a small man, he's probably just a little dinged up and tired from catching so many passes this year! He has been a dynamo on the field, probably just a little sore like everyone else.

Maybe Chad Jackson will be activated and get some reps. He was a slot receiver in college his last year.

Vrabel too!

Patriots
Questionable
ILB Eric Alexander (knee)
CB Eddie Jackson (knee)
G Stephen Neal (shoulder)
OLB Mike Vrabel (team decision)
WR Wes Welker (team decision)
S Eugene Wilson (ankle)

Probable
QB Tom Brady (right shoulder)

Questionable would seem to imply health problem (body part unspecified). Maybe the flu.

i think bb is resting him... welker is a little banged up... and he will be needed in much tougher games playing 100%... this will also give chad jackson more opportunities to play and see if he can really contribute... if they rest him, i say its a good call, i think we are gonna win anyway w/o him this week..

Yeah it occurred to me that CJ could play, but BB would not rest a player unless he were really unable to play health-wise. I am unaware that Welker or Vrabel was ever "banged up" enough to miss action por practice. This appears to be something new. Not to get alarmed or anything, but BB doesn't just rest guys. If Welker cannot go, don't forget that--besides Gaffney and Jackson-- he could also activate Troy Brown

Trust the hoodie, guys!

Welker caught the pass that sealed the deal (1st down) for the pats against the colts and then they were able to take 3 knees to end the game. He didn't appear to be hurt unless it happened in practice.

I know you're kidding -- smily face -- but we do not know what was being said during the game on both sides. We may have heard the last volley of an ongoing set of lobbed comments.

I'm not buying the rest idea.

I assume this was mentioned in one of the many run-up threads, but Parcells was rather adamant about the idea of playing your guys, not coaching to avoid injuries, and saying he did not like the "resting the starters" mentality.

He's listed as a team decision which means he's not hurt. If he's hurt or sick they have to disclose it. BB was probably just giving him some time to rest up.
