What week will Tommy Cool break Peyton's record ? With 33 right now, my only concern are these cold weather night games that we have coming up and how that might impact his run to 49.

Don't chick your countens before they're hatched.

I'm sure that it's in the back of so people's mind within the team. Will it dictate game plans, probably not. But if the opportunities are there, will they let him go after it. I'd bet on it. It's certainly fits into the Eff-U mantra of the year. Hey Peyton....... Eff-U :singing:

Tom has proven not to have been too adversely affected playing in cold weather before, and we are facing a few inept D's down the home stretch. Plan on 7-9 between the Jets and the Dolphins combined. The Eagles aren't exactly a juggernaut on D either. Neither is the Ravens what they once were.

Like I said, there will be opportunities, but he won't get 60 like some early predictions said.

Easily...since the RBs are unable to find the endzone, I see a final number of 55.
3....2....1....unleash the Maroney fanboys....

I actually think he'll do it week 15 at home against the Jets. That's 5 games from now. He's 17 away from 50 now. So, that would average out to a little more than 3 a game. He's been averaging close to 4 a game to this point. And I dont care how bad the weather gets. Do you guys remember the Raiders playoff game in '01. Brady threw for well over 300yds on over 50 passes. In about as bad a snowstorm as Ive seen this team have to play in. Weather has never been an issue for Brady. He plays as well in wind, rain and snow as anyone. And he wont have to heave 50 yard bombs to be effective. The short and intermediate passing games will continue to be deadly, and Im sure theyll run the ball a little more when the time comes. But throwing 17 more TDs in 5 or 6 games seems about right. And weeks 14 thru 16 are all home games, so he'll do it in Foxborough. Im just pulling for it to happen during the Jets game. Would seem fitting.

I would like to see atleast 4 in Buffalo on Sunday, that would account for a possible 1 or 2 TD games, that may happen during the next 7 games. I hope he really pads it up Sunday night to 37.

In the back of his mind, this record means alot. Tommy wants to establish himself as the best and he knows this is one of those things that would support that.
Tom would never admit it, but he definately wants this and I think BB wants this for him also.

Just to see the meeting where Peyton congratulates him and shakes his hand after breaking it would be priceless.

Just get 50 and I will completely thrilled. In fact, I will put it up there as my favorite sports moment outside of winning something. For years all I've heard about is Goober Manning and his uncanny ability to make everyone around him into superstars (even though they are all first round picks)- and everyone has constantly dogged Brady- pro bowl snubs, MVP snubs, etc. If Tom breaks the record there will no longer be a debate. Manning plays in domes; Brady plays in the cold. Brady will still break Manning's record because he is better than Manning.

In a way I care, and in another way I don't care. Take what the defense (or weather) gives you.

BTW, if you haven't seen Brady throw the ball in the cold or in the snow then I can see the reason for your anxiety. There are so many examples that it is overwhelming. The kid can throw the ball in any kind of weather. There has never been a weather game that slowed him down except for, perhaps, the Ravens game (the Mud Bowl) where I believe they wanted to pound the Ravens with the running game anyway.

And they did. Chalk up the W. Is there really any other stat?

Why would the cold change things? He's thrown in the cold/snow/wind many times with no problems.

I'd like to see him break the single game TD record, and throw 8 TDs against the Jets.

That will probably also be sufficient to eclipse Peyton's record.

He did play in a dome and then in Oakland! But it isn't like he didn't kill Green Bay when he was in Minnesota out on the tundra of Lambeau, and he's from West Virginia, hardly a tropical rainforest.

Even though this is an individual record, it is the one I'd love to see him get! A sixth round, blue collar, "work for everything you get" QB over-taking first overall, pedigree Goober! Love it! :)

The greatest sports moment every for me would be 19-0 season!

Barring that, I'll settle for fourth SB in seven years!

Completely off-topic, but that reminds me of one time when I was a kid, my mother, completely unintentionally, said,

"I have a kitchen cooking in the chicken" :p

I believe PM didn't throw many TD's in his last two games of that season.
So if Tommy follows the same pattern he'll have to do most of the damage
in the next 5 games. If he breaks it It probably won't be be until week 15
or so.

I doubt he throws more than 52 TDs. But If the PATs are
undefeated after week 16 he may throw more TDs to win win the Giants game for his teammates because they'll deserve to make history as the best
NFL team ever. :D

Yeah and for those "one game at a time"'ers, ...we know it's one game at
a time for the players but we are fans and we have the wonderful freedom
to speculate. :rocker:

Priorities...

1) Win Superbowl XLII

2) Go Undefeated

3) Serve and volunteer in the community

4) Stay Healthy

5) Humiliate and run up the score on everyone. :bricks:

6) Break every individual and team record possible....TD passes, QB rating, TD receptions, most points, point differential, etc....

So as long as priorities 1 thru 5 are met, then let the records fall.
