NaPolian files complaint over mascots [merged]

Co-worker sent me this...is this for real or just a joke?? Anybody hear about this?

An nfl.com article stated: “Because of the antics of Jaguars mascot Jaxson de Ville, a rule was instituted that all NFL mascots must stay behind the six-foot white border around the field at all times during games.” What incident is this alluding to?

Jaxson spent a little too much time on the field for Colts President Bill Polian’s tastes during the Monday night game on Oct. 22. Polian filed a complaint with the league.

I read somewhere about the Colts complaining that the mascot was waving to distract the field goal kicker. If true, the Colts have a legitimate complaint.

Me either, I mean, we don't let our horse sh*t on the ball (during a time out) when the opponents are on offense

There are 10,000 people in that end zone waving to distract the kicker, as well..

Kickers have to learn to be ice in these conditions...

If a furry mascot is enough to derail your kicker, then brother, you need a new kicker!

Polian is the biggest crybaby whiner in the league, he is such a pansy. I know guys like this in my bball rec league, they whine about EVERYTHING.

It not totally about the mascot. If I read the OP correctly, the mascot was standing on the field, in the back of the end zone. I don't have a problem with the mascot, but s/he should not be on the field.

Well, if it is true, that's pretty pathetic on the Colts part....what is Polian going to do next - change a rule every time he perceives his team has been slighted!

No, there are 10,000 people behind the end-zone, not in it. Teams should not have non-player distractions on the field.

Wait guys, isn't this exactly what the COLTS MASCOT did when we were playing them there?? I could be wrong but I recollect someone mentioning this in the thread that covered the various irritations when playing at RCA.

I didn't see any Charger mascot last week, so what was the excuse then? Maybe the Colts do need a new kicker.

They got a new kicker (our old kicker.) Fat lot of good it's done them.

But at least Adam Vinatieri only sees furry mascots that are really there.

Just as an aside, I love the Jacksonville mascot! He was definitely on the field last year when the Pats played them, and for some reason both my daughter and I were looking at him instead of at the kick and he made the "no good" sign and my daughter and I were bummed until we realized the kick had actually been good, for some reason that just cracked us up. Anyway it didn't bother Gostkowski, the Colts need to get over it, and I believe I saw their mascot on the field when the Pats played them too!
