Ok, I just read Reiss blurb on the Pro-Bowl voting and I have to say that I am perplexed. Are people really THAT homerish that they have Chris Hanson being the best punter in the AFC?

I'm sorry, but I'd take Brian Mormon or Mike Scifries over Hanson ANY DAY and twice on Sundays.

Obviously you are right but Hanson has had a very nice season, 11th (6th in the AFC) in Gross punting and of 21 punts, only 3 have been returned. He shouldn't be in the pro bowl but I can definitely see why Belichick is happy with him.

Hanson has done fine. Ho hum. Pro Bowl arguments on his bahalf, however, are a JOKE.

The really weird thing is that Brady is 2nd for the QB's behind PM! Wow!

Was that the most surprising thing to you? How about Brady not being #1 in overall fan voting and 2nd to Manning in the AFC? How about the fact that Vrabel is not the top OLB in voting because this year on the field he is having a great, great year (47 tkls, 8.5 sacks). Maybe we need to be more "homerish." Let's stuff the ballot box!!

I know people who are FANatic about the Pats annoy the hell out of you, but don't be so quick to blame homerism. Pats fans alone could not vote Hanson into the Pro Bowl. If it were that easy, Brady would not have been outvoted by Rivers and Palmer last year.

This is the hype syndrome at work. Because posters here at Patsfans are so knowledgable, we sometimes assume that all fans are. Far from true. Most fans (and Pro Bowl voters) know very little, and most of their knowledge comes from  newspapers like USA TODAY. They know who the good teams are, but not necessarily anything else..

Last year the Chargers were hot and had 9 guys voted to Pro Bowl, including Rivers over Brady. This year the Pats are hot, and PR Welker and P Hanson are getting the popular vote.

One way you can tell it is a wide-spread thing is that Izzo is leading STs. There are a couple of Pats doing WAY better than Izzo. Eckel is a ST tackling demon this year, but no one has heard of him outside of NE. Everyone everywhere knows the name Izzo, and he benefits.

All people outside of NE know is that the Pats are hot, and they don't really know any punters or STers, so they pick a Pats guy.

#2 in the AFC, yes. Overall, both Favre and Manning are ahead of Brady in total votes.

Tom Brady, the third best QB in the NFL.

Stupid question, but where did you find the balloting results? I cant seem to find them on NFL.com. :bricks:

The real question is where is Glass Maroney in the ballots so far? Because that is the true test of pats fan homerism. I'm just wondering if and when Glass makes it if he will be the first running back in pro bowl history to make it with no TD's. :D

I don't know who's gotten more annoying, Gregg Easterdork with his dropping Belichick name in each week's column, or Nutty Sports Advisor with his ignorant anti-Maroney crusade.

Punt returners and special teamers are pretty obscure positions. How many people read up on their favorite punter?? The Pro Bowl is based in part on popular votes so you will get results like this. The real injustice is Brady getting fewer votes than Manning when Brady is putting up RECORD BREAKING numbers and he has brought his team to 9-0 when Peyton has only brought his team to 7-2, has inferior numbers, and the Colts seem on the verge of a breakdown. Time to stuff the ballot box for the guys that deserve it.

Does anyone know where I can find the PB voting results (so far)?
