IMO the Colts really don't warrant the inordinate amount of posts that are being dedicated to them. They're dead to me - just another W for the Pats and another mediocre team. Let their fans obsess and hate on the Pats all they want - as an elite team the Pats deserve it - Indy doesn't.

The way things turned out thank God (or Dungy, hehe) we beat Indy.

Imagine being 15-1, having HFA and Indy possibly going out in the wild-card round? I couldn't take it.

Good idea. Don't think it will happen, though. :)

It's not quite that simple. In the past 4 seasons, there only have been two Super Bowl or AFC Champions other than the Pats. Those same two teams are the ones the Pats beat in all three of their AFC championship wins.

I don't want to utterly dismiss the NFC. After all, all three of the Pats' Super Bowl wins have been close games. But for years, the two rival teams that have matter the most have been the Colts and the Steelers. And of the two, the Colts are the ones who've had much more success vs. the Pats head to head.

Let me put it to you this way, out of any other team in the NFL that could challenge NE, I fear Indy the most.

The Steelers could be suprisingly tough if we catch Worthlessburger on a good day.

Anyway, I think the Colts hate here has less to do with their perceived threat than the revulsion at their whiny, snively, holier-than-though, goober behavior. And the media's (and NFL officiating staff's) ballwashing of it all.

If that happens, the way things are goin with them, i would'nt be surprised. Imagine too, if the chargers loss repeats itself, and Vinateiri reincarnates as Vanderjagt and misses another cheap shot.

hurtful!!!

Doesn't help that the gmae was followed by a bye week. :violent:

I don't care what people say, the colts are still the most dangerous team in the nfl. They are freak'n great. I can't stand Dungy, but he gets them to play. They are our biggest threat. I don't see why anyone should want to ignore them. That is what makes it all fun.

The squeelers are also a very good adversary. It will be a fun game come the sixth of december.

Interesting. I had to come all the way over here to read another obsessive thread.

With Freeney out for the season? NOT BLOODY LIKELY!

Huh? Are you telling me that even though we have pretty much negated Freeny the past two years that somehow his loss would impact them against us this year.

No.

The colts have beat us a couple times where Freeny had not been a real threat, thanks to our O line.

The Colts are our number one opponet. When they get Clark and Harrison back, they should be a bit better.

A relatively healthy Colts squad would be our #1 foe. But if they get stuck playing in the divisional round and have to go to Pittsburgh, I doubt we'll even see them again.

I'd consider the Steelers our #1 foe at this point, I may change my tune after December 9th though.

A big part of Indy's success against us in SB41.5 was their ability to get good pressure on us through three quarters. Without Freeney, or the second coming of Simeon Rice, Brady will have all day to throw.

Brady + Time = no chance for Indy.

Say what you will about Matt Light handling Freeney:

1. He really didn't completely handle Freeney during this most recent match up.
2. Without Freeney we can focus more attention Mathis et al

CiI, if you aren't in Iraq anymore, bless you, and hopefully you won't have to go back.

Re those Colts...enjoy the obsession while you got it. It's fading fast, with every sloppy Manning interception, every shanked Vinatieri kick, every stinging, decimating injury. Good luck with that edge rush from here on out. Peyton-face is in your future. :)

The fact that Indy lost this week only proves a point I was trying to mention in another post awhile back. I know you're Pats fans here and having faith in your team is certainly a given as a true fan. However, many posters here have already written the Steelers off due to their losses to Arizona and Denver. Both teams that, in theory, the Steelers SHOULD have beaten. Most of those same posters are under the assumption that Indy is the ONLY other team in the NFL on the same level with the Pats. Well, Indy's loss to San Diego pretty much sends that idea up in flames. Let's face it, Indy SHOULD have beaten San Diego sunday night! The same San Diego team that was HANDLED by the lowly Vikings and a very talented rookie RB just a week before. Addai SHOULD have run all over them, and Peyton SHOULD have had his way with their secondary. All of these things didn't happen. The NFL is more unpredictable this year than it has been in many many years in my opinion. You simply can't think of any game as a "gimmie" anymore!

As a Steelers fan, I'll admit the Pats SHOULD beat the Steelers in December, but just like any other week.....I suppose we'll have to wait and see. I really think this is gonna be a fantastic game!
