The Indianapolis Colts already expect Dwight Freeney not to play for several weeks because of a left foot injury, but now there's reason to believe the Pro Bowl defensive end's season might be over.

Though more tests have to be completed for the team to make a final determination, a source said Tuesday that Freeney might have suffered a Lisfranc injury in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers. If additional tests verify the initial diagnosis of the midfoot injury, the source said Freeney will need season-ending surgery.

Players who have suffered Lisfranc injuries, even those not needing surgical repair, have needed months to rehabilitate.

We all have fun with the trash talk, but I think the dominant sentiment on this board is that we never want to see injuries.

Kansas City has just seen thier best chance to finally win in Indy come true.

I think they legitimately have a good chance this sunday,especially if Holmes or LJ runs thru that decimated line all day.

You know it has all of a sudden become the importance of the Colts hoping Mathis continues to be healthy,If he for any reason goes down, the Colts may not win more than 10 games,I think Mathis is the glue that will keep the Colts from being in trouble with some help from Sanders.

The Colts are slowly beginning to look like only a good team with Elite status slipping away as thier best players go on IR or on the weekly injury report.

Freeney gave an interview before the Pats game that really impressed me. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery.

Freeney is a quality adversary and will be missed. He is the type of player where you can judge how well your team is doing by how well Dwight is handled. Quick recovery for you.

Too bad. Hate to see a fellow Organman hurt. Oh well.

Still can't believe the Colts gave him all that money. I said it at the time that that contract would be the beginning of the end for this current Colt's team.

You simply don't give a pass rusher whose game is predicated on speed a boat load of cash when they are getting to the wrong side of 30.

Once he loses that step Freeney will be just another slightly above-average DE. And with this surgery that lost step could be now.

If you guys remember when the same injury happened to Ty Law he tried walkin off the feild but couldnt due to the amount of pain, same thing with Freeney he tried walkin to the sideline but in the end he couldnt either so he was carted off just like Law... very similar between the two.
