Does anyone know the extent of Freeney's injury?

looked bad, couldnt put weight on it without frowning, then was carted off the field with his ankle wrapped,

It was a knee injury wasnt it? I didnt see all of the game.

Watching the play, I thought it was his knee (he got rolled up on), from the wrapping, I'm guessing it's his ankle. The injury to Diem is really troubling for them, that would make both tackles out! None of the injuries look year ending.

The sideline reporter said it was his foot, and he couldn't put weight on it.

ESPN reported 'cracked bone' in his right foot (think it was right). Having and MRI today to see how badly the crack is and if they may need to break it to reset the bone. Could be a tough injury to come back from this year, but too early to tell.

Honestly, I hope he is OK. I really like Freeney and wish him well!! I hate to see any players get injured especially great, game changing players like Freeney.

Our guy Thomas didn't come back quickly from a broken foot. Yes there are hundreds of different bones in the foot but a broken foot in mid-Nov likely means IR.

he's done for the year. That's why depth is essential. Just look at our SB Tres Ocho and Tres nueve yrs

Foot injuries take longer to heal because of the lack of blood flow to that area. Obviously, this could be a significant issue for the colts.

I didn't see the injury happen, but saw how heavily wrapped up his foot was. I hope it isn't serious, Freeney is a great player.

Terry

He was moving to his left, attempting to move with the flow of the play. He seemed to be in some mud, or sod that was less than stable, and there appeared to be just the slightest slippage, and he went down on his hands and knees, and it seemed that he was hurt right off the bat. He got up quickly - as if it was a big surprise to him, tried to put weight on it but it was the kind of pain that allowed no weight, and then he emmediately hopped off the field with a very concerned look on his face.

I only saw it once, but this is how I remember it.

Here is an early version of the Colts' injury report:

TE Dallas Clark (Concussion) Questionable
OLB Freddy Keiaho (Eustachian Tube) Questionable
WR Marvin Harrison (Knee) Questionable, but don't ask any questions about it
DT Raheem Brock (Neck) Questionable
OLB Tyjuan Hagler (Neck) Questionable
T Tony Ugoh (First Shoulder, Now Neck, Heading North) Questionable
DL Dwight Freeney (Post-nasal Drip) Questionable
Coach Tony Dungy (Accurate Injury Reporting) Doubtful

You forgot
K Vinitieri (Clutch) Questionable
QB Manning (Accuracy) Questionable

Yes he is. Every time a game influencer like Freeny gets injured the entertainment product we get to see gets worse. I hate injuries.

Freeney appeared to injure it without contacting another player. In that way it reminded me of Ty Law's Liz Frank (?) foot injury in Pittsburgh in 2004.

It's his left foot. Colts have suffered what we've been suffering for years. Yet the media exaggerates their injuries never for us. So unfair.

yeah just like Rodney getting injured last year or losing Koppen, Gay, Light, Wilson, or Morris.

Great teams find ways to overcome this.

This is true. I'd like to see that list of all the injuries the Pats suffered back in 2003/04. I remember the DB's in particular were decimated.

Yet despite all that, BB & co found ways to compensate and they won the
SB in both years.
