OT: LOL-did Giants' LB Antonio Pierce say Peyton's little brother SUCKS?

"Tony Romo ended any realistic chance the Giants had to win the NFC East this season and also put an end to any remaining questions whether he is better than Eli Manning."

"But as long as Romo, an undrafted rookie free agent in 2003, keeps distancing himself from Manning, the overall No. 1 pick in the 2004 draft, the Giants will never catch the Cowboys. Romo has become a special player. "The quarterback is pretty exceptional," linebacker Antonio Pierce said. The difference in these teams is the difference in the quarterbacks."

"This was exactly the kind of game the Giants expected Manning to win when they gave up all those draft picks to get him. This was the biggest regular-season game he's played and he didn't come close to taking his game to a new level. This game was a referendum on the two teams and the two QBs. He is a good quarterback and clearly the Giants can win with him, but now you have to wonder how much so. It's dangerous to place too much significance on one game, but if Manning can't beat Romo when the Giants are healthy, rested after their bye and catch the Cowboys on the second of two straight East Coast trips - they played last Sunday night in Philly - then exactly when is it going to happen?"

"On a day when Romo's QB rating was 123.1, Manning's was 72.7. Manning still has streaks when it's hard to figure out what he's thinking. When the Giants had the ball at their 42 late in the first half, he was sacked on first and third downs when he had an opportunity to throw the ball away. That helped set up Romo's 20-yard TD pass to Patrick Crayton. Manning threw a bad first-half INT when his hand was hit. He allowed three delay of game penalties in the second half."

"So, was it all Manning's fault? Of course not. Did he lift his team, did he do anything inspirational, did he give any indication he will ever beat Romo? Didn't see it. Manning is now 0-3 against him."

"Maybe things will change, but for now, when the Giants and Cowboys play, Manning is the second-best quarterback on the field, making the Giants the second-best team."

Ever since Manning, Inc. decided that he would only allow himself to be drafted by certain teams I've wanted to see him fail.

I don't think that Eli wants to play football.

I think that growing up in that family has made it imposible to be the shemale that he really wanted to be. It is just not an acceptable, umm option.

Seriously-Eli had accuracy problems at Ole Miss(and not to mention too he chocked away that '03 late season game against LSU-otherwise, Nick Saban wouldn't have become the highest paid college coach at the time).

When teams scout college players, WHY in the world do they even bother to listen to the likes of Mel Kiper, John Clayton, and Tom Jackson?? It's just mind-boggling.

That article brings up some good points. The Giants traded for Eli Manning expecting that, four years into his career, he'd be leading a perennial division champ. Manning's career path has been on a treadmill since his second season. He's usually good, sometimes very good, but he comes out of big games looking like the 2nd best QB on the field.

I remember reading prospect profiles prior to the 2004 NFL draft, there was a common thread. Roethlisburger might be better than Manning and Rivers, but his small school background and lack of pedigree will cause him to drop. When are teams going to start ignoring these fictional drawbacks and pick the best player period? The Giants and Chargers got duped.
