Man ohh man...

they let good wr's go, we said, OK, they wernt top notch...

they let milloy and law go, we said they were getting older and had lost a step...

they let vinatieri go, we condemned them...I at least did, I thought was it really that hard to keep him? a PROVEN winner???

well, im done questioning their decisions, in case u missed it, tonight Vinatieri missed a 29 yd game winning field goal....ive never kicked a field goal in my life, i think i can make that 29 yarder though....

Adam, i hope ur enjoying ur latest ring, cuz u traded about the next 3 for 1 and some extra cash...see u in free agency

I have never critisized them or anything they have done. And as of now, I have had no reason to.

or maybe AV just cant play for any other team then the Pats...

Or maybe they let him go a year too soon rather than a year too late.

Indeed, I think BB had lost confidence in AV even when he was with the Pats, on longer FGs.

And it's not as if AV never missed in the postseason for the Pats. He wasn't a perfect clutch kicker.

AV was just another product of the system. Like Branch, Givens, McGinnest, Graham, et al.

;)

AV wanted the dough..he was arguably bigger than any Kicker in the NFL as far as Q rating goes

but there's a lot of guys who can kick...brought into the Patriots system they should get the confidence to do their job

There ain't too many Richard Seymours. bro...nor are ther nose tackles like slimmed down fatboy or unheralded All Pros like Ty or another in a long line of LSU standouts like jarvis Green. Defense..soemthing we never really had for forty freaking years. Sugar Bear hamilton...our star in the80's and NOTHING else...cmon.,..front seven dictates the pace of any game...Christ, look at the Giants in the early 90's

cmon..AV has to be the greatest clutch kicker in NFL...he could still be here...but if you don't want to deal with the Pats business plan then it's adios. I love AV...I loved Law...Milloy...jeezus Willie was THE patrios in the early 2000's. Well Seymour could have walked like the rest. Brady could ahve been a ***** primadonna...all you gott ado is look at Troy Brown and Bru. You're gonna get your goddamned money...just like Michael Vick...if randy Moss played with Vick he'd have become what he should have been. All you have to look at is Junior Seau...he's playing lights out...under the radar..."he sucks...he's old!!!"...he's Junior fackin whack job Seau...who's older smarter adn HAPPY at last. These are bad guy??? Evil empire??? All the other teams WISH they could play here with these freakin Proven Icons. remeber the idiot media jerks claiming the Pats are a slow team??? Idiots...the Patriots play their SCHEME. It takes vets to do it right

Never question their moves except around draft time and everyone thinks they're a draft guru.
Only pick I was right about them selecting was Jackson, Gostowski.

I'm glad he's gone. He's on the downside of his career. Gostkowski is young and has a cannon leg on kickoffs.

You cannot fall in love with Veteran Players...

AV did not go for the dough. (He's being paid slightly more than the Patriots originally offered and he never even negotiated with them.) He wanted to leave the Patriots. He wanted to kick in a dome.

He got his wish. But even dome teams play on the road in open air stadiums. ;)

Ghost hasn't kicked many FG's but so far this year he is 11/12 and no missed XP.

Call me crazy, but I'll question BB/Pioli when I disagree with them. They make mistakes -- just ask Bethel Johnson, Duane Starks, Monte Beisel, and the 2006 receiving corps. :) They just make fewer mistakes and more inspired moves (goodbye 4th-rounder, hello Randy!) than anybody else. I admire, I appreciate, I applaud, and when the occasion seems to require, I question.

Edit: drafting a kicker, though, was never a problem in my mind.

I heard BB let AV go because of his performance on kickoffs. After seeing Gost repeatedly boot them in the end zone I can see why now.

Don't forget that the Patriots did in fact try to keep him--and, in fact, were willing to raise their offer to keep him.

In the long run, though, I'm kinda glad they didn't. [I'm quite happy with the kicker we have now, although I can't help but wonder what might have happened if the Pats had kept Gould over Vinatieri in '05.]
