ok, so I'm a poster on the colts board. One of the regulars is trashing BB, so I'm having some fun and defending him. His one point is that cheating defined BB's career and personal life.

I tried to point out that judging a man by one incident was foolish, and how would colt fans feel if I judged Dungy by his sons death. The thread was quickly deleted and I got a nasty note from a mod never to broach that subject again.

Since this is the board run by the colts, I understand a mod needs to keep the discussion on topic (Colts) and reasonable (I was not being disrespectful).

At what point does moderation become censorship?

It's a privately owned board. They can censor you all they want. In fact they don't even have to let you post there, but they do.

Easy solution...don't POST THERE

they'll follow you here anyway

just do me a favor and remember....

Workhorse...good

High horse...worthess meatsack

This isn't answering your question, but I'll throw in my 2¢ anyway. I'd just stay away from that topic - it was not related to football. Maybe Dungy is a sanctimonius hypocrite, but there is no need to go deep into his personal life. If the situation was reversed, I don't think anyone over here would care for it either.

I would also refrain from going to the Colts website and reading their drivel. It lowers the IQ.

Tell the mod to GFY, take your ban and let them have their little dictatorship. It's not a democracy on private boards, but you don't have to post over there, and you're better off it you don't. No point in exposing yourself to the unabashed idiocy that permeates every moment of their pathetic, hayseed existences.

That's the point where they banned me forever from the IndyStar board for sticking up for my team. Starting content free troll topic is one thing. Defending your team from calumny is quite another. In fact I should demand that He Ban Me get banned in response to my banning just as in the cold war diplomats were routinely expelled from countries when one of their own was expelled from another country.

Ban Gate!!

I'd give 'em one last bomb and take the ban. Of course, I'm not the best person to ask. I'm already banned there.

Frankly, you're lucky you got a note from a moderator. I just got banned directly for my posts.

I got banned at the Star six years ago...just because I was a Pats fan, period. LMAO at the ring around the rosy homers

I really don't understand the fascination with trolling. I joined Indy Star a long time ago because I was interested in reading their take both on themselves and us. I seldom post over there unless they are mis-stating something football related. I stay out of the idiot threads there as I try to stay out of the most idiotic here.

Maybe a lot of you should just go back to posting on generic boards like ESPN where you can just piss on each other all day long.

Trolling them there is a ignorant as them trolling us here. Why you would think they should enjoy it is beyond me. In fact because the Indy Star board was so poorly moderated a few years back it got over run with Pat's trolls who begat Colts resident trolls and between them they drove a lot of intelligent Colts fans off that board all together, which is why it is what it is today - a hypersensitive speck of cyberspace inhabited by obcessed Pat's bashers and bandwaggon pom pom wavers. Ian and the Mods here try to keep that fate from befalling this board, but most of you guys fight them at every turn with your free speech rants and troll baiting, even after Ian gave you a place to spar with them at will.

I can't even begin to imagine how many 'HAHA DUNGY'S SON IS DEAD' posts were on that board when that happened so it is probably just a topic they deemed verboten.

You're not being censored, you're being moderated. If you come into my house and start talking about how ugly you think my sister is if I kick you out I'm not censoring you. It's the same thing here. You play in their house you play by their rules, they're not stopping you from speaking your mind just not allowing you to speak it on their turf.

Plus that was a really dumb point anyways. I can't stand the Colts but Dungy's son going crazy doesn't make Dungy a bad guy or a bad parent, who we become is a lot more complicated than just whether or not Mom and Dad spanked us.

Words of wisdom!

I for one am sick of the puerile threads, "I was banned from XYZ". Folks need to get a life. And maybe learn what the First Ammendment does and does not entail.

I use Ban roll-on...so I'm immune to all this B.S.

Ugh mods ban this guy for hurting feelings.

Can we institute something like that here? Seriously........ The trolls here are destroying the place. Just the other day, there was a thread about Jarvis Green taking care of Marquise's son. It was a nice story. But a troll had to jump in an ruin the whole thing. It pissed me off.

Granted, the mods cut out the offending posts but still the whole exercise we annoying. Not sure what can be done, but these trolls are friggin annoying the hell out of me.

But that was my exact point to them. That incident has no bearing on Dungy. He should not be judged by it. Just like the cameragate is one incident in BB's career, it should not invalidate his other work.

BTW, it wasn't the star board, it was the colts.com

The issue I have, and to use your analogy, you've been trashing my sister all night, but I can't say squat about yours.

I'm really not getting the connection to Spygate and Dungy's kid dying. Your assertion of Belichick is correct, but there's no need to take that next step to make a tenuous connection (at best) purely for shock value. That said, I'm with everyone else: just don't post there. Nothing that you can say will convince them that BB isn't the antichrist anyways. They've been told that he is, it fits what they want to believe, and they're going to believe it, facts and reason be damned.

you shouldn't bash any Colt fan's sister...cause it's not funny to make fun of someone's wife

Dungy didn't kill his son. For better or for worse Belichick was to blame for the camera crap, blown out of proportion as it was.

Exactly, but I'm doing it in my house. We hate your sister here and nobody can stop us. Don't like it, don't hang out with me. It's just not censorship.

A question to ask yourself is why does it freaking matter to you anyways, enough that you'd make a thread about it on another forum? Are you that offended that your debate got deleted? Why do you care about anonymous internet people's meaningless opinions or tenderhearts?
