With the Rams and Falcons winning today its looking up.
I can't see us picking before the Fish or the Rats but a 3-5 pick would be great!

Exactly. The way I see it the only way we don't get a top 5 pick is if the 49ers somehow manage to win two more games and get to 4 wins, which would then leave it up to "tiebreakers" to see the order in which the 4 win teams pick. I can't see any more than 5 teams max(including the 49ers) winning 3 games or fewer. The only thing that worries me is the 49ers have the easiest schedule left of all the bottom feeders with possible win oppurtunities at home against the Rams, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, and Cincinnati plus two possible win oppurtunities on the road at Arizona and at Carolina. Obviously they should lose a bunch of these games, but they can't be counted as automatic losses because all those teams are middle of the pack flawed teams that won't be in the playoffs.

i guess its safe for us to root for Jets and Dolphins to win a few games.

Well it's up to the 49ers to keep losing. If they lose to Seattle tomorrow then to the Rams next week then our pick moves ahead of the Rams' pick :rocker:

Sadly, the Vikings are making a concerted dive for the bottom.

Adrian Peterson was banged up in their blowout/shutout loss today.

it almost looks like we are gunning for the #2 pick.... awesome!

Minnesota still plays the Raiders and 49ers so we stand to win either way with one of these teams losing each time.

I can't image having a top 5 pick.
BB will surley trade it down if he can imo.

I've been a Jets and Phins fan for the last two weeks.

Anything under the 10 pick is a huge win in my book.

This is unbelievable, no matter what crap they throw at the Pats it turns into gold. I hope it's making our adversaries throw up in their mouths a little bit! Ha!

Has it ever happened that 3 teams in the same division picked 1 - 2 - 3?

But it still would be a top 5 pick.....I agree on trading it.....but it will just bring more in return. It's all good though:rocker:

you HAVE to think Pioli turns the high 1 into two lower ones...uses one and banks the other...this has been their M.O. ever since

The Pats aren't afraid to use high picks if a player they want is on the board like Richard Seymour.

I cannot root for the Dolphins this season. If you want to be rational about it, I see no way that they win two games, let alone three to vault over the 9ers' pick. In that case I'd much rather see them go 0-fer on the season.

Rational thinking aside, I will always hate them and wish great misfortune (when it comes to winning) on their franchise.

The Jets, I think, probably win one more game, maybe two, specifically the one against the Dolphins. I'll take a tie between the 9ers and Jets and let the breakers play out.

The Vikings don't concern me right now, seeing as how the 9ers "control their own destiny" when it comes to the pick. :D

I'm going to laugh very hard and very long if the Pats go 19-0 and get the #1 overall pick.

It would have been GREAT if the Fish could have beat the Bills today. Its not in the cards for them to win a game this year.

I can just hear Berman now "Patriots have just won the Super Bowl AND they are on the clock"

It's tough to say what their "M.O." is when, IIRC, they've only had one top-10 pick in the Belioli era and they used it on Richard Seymour.

Belichick will do what he always does: See who is on the board, evaluate whether or not there is a player worth the high selection, and proceed from there. I guarantee you that what he does will depend on the situation... you can't make a blanket statement this far in advance that "they should trade down" or "they should select a LB" or whatever....

Exactly. BB will use a top 5 pick if there's a player there he thinks is worth it. And they're not going to trade down just for the hell of it. There has to be an offer they think is worth it.
