I hate the bye!
THis sucks. I get up today and it feels like Sunday because I don't have to work. Then I make coffee, take the dog out, grab some firewood and go to the calender to see who the Pats are playing and.....

I completely forgot for ten minutes that there's no game this week! You know what this means? I don't know, but it probably means I have to go visit some jack-arse relatives I can't stand or do some chores around the house or talk to people about something other than football...It just ain't right when the weather is like this and there's no Pats game!

I was just feeling down and I had to vent...thanks for listening.:(

I feel your pain, my friend. On the bright side, there are some interesting games on TV. Pittsburgh/Cleveland, NYG/Dallas, Colts/SD. Not the same, but something

It will be a bit boring not seeing the Patriots beat up on some hapless victim. This is the first year I'll see all the games here in SC. But at least there is the Giants/Cowboys game, and that seems like it may be good. Also the Browns will get to show if they are a contender or pretender against the Steelers. Pittsburgh crushed them in September, but that was with Frye. I still don't think they have the defense yet to be serious, but it could be a shootout. And who decided to put Seattle and SF on Monday night? Guess I'll be asleep by 9 PM tomorrow! I don't even want to watch the game in SD. I can't stand either team, and although I love to see LT (LottaTears)crying, I hat to see the Colts win! Maybe if I got to see Sterriman doing his roid rage dance over Manning on the turf it would be worth a peek.

I figured out the bye week perfectly this year.

I go up and see my mom, on a non-holiday weekend, when I-95 is (I hope) not a total parking lot...

So all this worry about "oh no Sunday was cancelled," is a non-issue. Then, bonus, I keep remembering I have fantasy teams, and games will be on the radio (at least up til halftime of game 1... then it's family time.)

And though I do love my mom, this way I don't have to love her while the Pats are on! (anybody who's taken an ethics class recognizes the classic dilemna so often portrayed in philosophical terms: What if you're alone in a lifeboat that can not possibly carry more than 1 other person, and your wife and your mother are both drowning, but it's also 4th and goal from the 1? It's a classic case of a question you can not answer until you are in that situation... hence the term "situational football.")

PFnV,

A very bad human being.

I'd have Vrable brush block and release to the corner of the EZ.

Was that the right answer?

Consider that the team needs a bye week to rest up for the next 7 games in its march to football immortality.

I agree with you. Although the Pats are the team I love to watch, I just love football, any football. There are some great games on today, so I'll be on the couch all day even though the Pats aren't playing.

im sure youll be watching the colts game getting irritated about those stripes on the shoulder pads chill dude

I like it after the emotional Colts week. Even as just a fan I have enjoyed having a week off before jumping back on the track for another game.

Yeah - its tough having such a great streak going and then having to wait.

Other team fans don't appreciate how tough we have it.

Still - no Pats Games gives me a chance to go nostalgic catching up on cheesy 1970s tv show clips on youtube

The Adventures of Bigfoot and Wildboy - damn - doesn't get any cheesier than that!

You are right, the bye week certainly doesn't feel the same, especially when you wake up Sunday and know the Pats are going to be playing today. No Brady to Moss for 1 week I guess. There are some good games on today to keep us entertained hopefully.

I'm actually looking forward to games I can just watch and not really care about. It's been a crazy first half of the season and I like the chance to just catch my breath.

I also have this issue where I can't eat during a Pats game. Last week I skipped dinner and it was miserable. I can't wait to eat burgers today!

So, yay for the bye!
