It's easy, and only takes a few moments.ask buckner you idiot .not all former athletes return to the city for whom they used to play .your just here to rain on the boston parade .your a NJ piece of sh-t with no life and the teams you like suck.your just jealous so you come here to try and stir things up ..and btw he did return to boston after that play .he even played for the team again in the early ninties and was back in boston in the mid ninties so GFY.Again, how come Buckner has never showed his face in New England since that play.
I was and from what I saw and heard, there were plenty of people around me cheering when Pennington didn't get back up. I was wearing a Flutie jersey and one of the Jets fans came up to me said that "Flutie's kid has Aids"! I'm not sure, but I think he is autistic. Real classy! For the record, it was Bob Stanley not Mike Stanley. I could give two ****s about Bill Buckner and you for that matter! Enjoy a long period of losing in NJ!:singing:I was not at the game in Week 1.
I am not a Jets fan.
Jets fans were cheering for the arrival of Kellen Clemens. It was not a knock on Pennington at all. Jets fans respect his ability to play the game. They were trying to support Clemens. It was misinteprted about how they were happy to see Pennington go down.
So the premise of this thread is that Boston fans still harbor resentment for him even though the team has won twice since, and evidence for this is how he was treated a long time ago?
I wouldn't blame him if he never went back to Boston. Why should he, because he played baseball there 20 years ago? I wouldn't even blame him if he forever held a grudge towards Boston. None of that would support the premise for this thread, though,
i may never post againLets recap;
Boston is a racist city
Jason Kidd is a hero
New Jersey/New York fans are the greatest
Buckner hates Boston
Again, how come Buckner has never showed his face in New England since that play.
I don't blame him...though he deserves some... but most every Sox fan realizes
#1 - he shouldn't have been in the game at that point and
#2 - the game should have been over at that point too as Stanley didn't do his job either
But one would think that Buckner - undertandably made about his role as a scapegoat to some - would have been a little bit more diplomatic when asked about this a few years ago
I think that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way - people who were more than prepared to "forgive" him even though Buckner was over the top in insisting he had no reason to be forgiven
buckner never needed to be forgiven for anything .people forget that play happened in game 6 .they still had game 7 they could have won.buckner played great in his time in boston.he busted his ass everyday .he was one of my favorite players back then.
