On EEI:

"There is basically zero chance Randy Moss will not be back with NE for the long term". Adam went on to say Moss is the happiest he's been in his career, Randy loves the area, the team philosophy, coaches, QB, his teammates, and the organization.

Hopefully he's correct, and Moss will be around for a long time.

I do hope Schefter is 100% on the money with this one. I would really hate to see Moss go.

I was skeptical about getting him in the offseason, but he made a believer out of me.

Let's pay the man!

Terry

Yea you guys got him under market value. (The Raiders most likely are kicking themselves right now) He deserves the highest WR salary.

Dan Snyder might.
But that isn't what Pioli will put on the table.

Great news. I hope stallworth stays also.

If Randy Moss takes less money to stay here, is that BB and Pioli's greatest triumph as a front office duo? I mean, never in a million years would I have put that on the table as a possibility, and now it seems likely. Crazy, just crazy.

Agreed there.

Lock him up for the next 3-4-5 years and let him go into the Hall with a couple of Patriot Super Bowl rings.

Plus, you gotta keep him around if for no other reason that to see if the Brady-to-Moss hookup can be on par with other greats: Bradshaw-to-Swann, Montana-to-Rice, Fouts-to-Jefferson, Marino-to-Clayton/Duper, Aikman-to-Irvin, Kelly-to-Reed, Staubach-to-Pearson, Tarkenton-to-White, et al.

Moss knows what its like to play for a big contract on a team where hes the only piece in place. He realizes with Tom getting him the ball for the rest of his/their career(s) he has a legit shot at getting into canton

Yep, and it's not like he's a role player, just another little cog in the big Patriots machine, either. He's a friggin' megastar again.

I hate to be a stickler and give colts players credit but manning harrison is better than any of the aformentioned tandoms

Ahhhhhhhh....I was starting to get nervous opening this thread thinking it would say he won't return in all likelihood.

I figured he would resign eventually with us for multiple years.

Hopefully he stays, but one cannot expect Kraft to be a pushover when high profile players want big money. That's exactly why we have good teams and are under the cap, Kraft doesn't just throw money away. I think the only example of which may have been Adalius Thomas' contract, but so far that contract has been worth it.

Better than Montana to Rice? Dream on. Marvin Harrison isn't 1/10th the receiver Jerry Rice was. Not even close. And most would agree Montana was better than Pey-a-ton.

What, are you 12 years old? DId you miss the Montana-Rice era? Sure seems like it.

Seriously, I couldn't even believe that. Montana to Rice is the best ever, pending the remainder of Brady to Moss.

That's too bad because usually if something comes out of Schefter's mouth it happens.

With that said, if Randy gets his Super Bowl, he's going to go get his money. He'll say, "I'm Randy Moss, *****," take his ring and move on.

You've heard of a double negative, haven't you, Aqua?

"There is basically zero chance Randy Moss will not be back with NE for the long term".

I'm saying Schefter is usually right and saying that's too bad because I don't want Moss on the Pats.

But my personal opinion is that once Moss gets a ring, he'll say, "**** off!" And go get his money.

Just wishful thinking on your part. You know he'll be back in New England next year, ring or not.
