Anyone hear the interview with Phil Simms on the Steve Czaban show? He said the worst thing about doing the game Sunday was that it was sweltering in the dome and he was sweating like crazy.

Considering it was in the low 50s during the game they must've really had to JACK that heat up to get it that hot in there.

And to steal a line of thinking from Colts fans (of which I do not condone ). It doesn't surprise me that Polian would ask for the heat to be maxed out in that dome... BECAUSE HE IS SATAN! Wah...wah...wa.

If the Colts made it hot on purpose, it backfired bigtime on them. It was the Colts' defenders sucking wind at the end of the game, not the Pats.

I noticed this while watching this while watching the game Moss was sweating bullets if you look at him in the 4th quarter it looked like he had vaseline all over his body.

So why don't these announcers tell the viewers information like this? Oh...that's right... they must toe the company line ....and enhance crowd sounds. (Any one remember how CBS added bird sounds to a golf brooadcast)

Agree with what somebody else said - If Polian and Co. did that thinking they were going to get an advantage, it backfired big time. Pats got better as the game went on. They might not do that next time. This tactic didn't help Indy.

a. We now also know that Polian and Co. had fake crowd noise amped into the stadium when the Patriots were on offense. This may have helped Indy some, it's hard to know. Not enough though.

b. According to Tom Brady, the Indy defensive linemen were calling out fake snap counts. Brady said he got on the refs about it, and so if it helped, it was most likely only for a while. I'm guessing the refs stopped them, although with this crew, that's not a definite.

c. Patriots had no coach to QB communication for the whole game. BB said team had to go to hand signals. It would appear that tactic worked early as the offense sputtered, but it seemed like the Pats figured it out, the more the game went on.

If I hear one more Indy fan talk about how clean, fair, moral, and ethical they are, I think I'm going to puke. I think we need to put an asterisk next to the Colts name, at the end of this season. Come to think of it, using the CameraGate logic, we can assume this has gone on every game at INDY since the franchise has existed.

What worked for Polian last year backfired on him this year.

This time, the Pats didn't come in with half their team under the flu.

Last year was much more egregious, btw. Temps in Indy were around 20 degrees that January night and it was 85 + inside the dome. Simms remarked about it DURING the broadcast.

Here's my take on Simms, btw. He has remarked during games and after about a) the noise differential in the dome ("these fans are unbelievable well-trained, it is very quiet when Manning has it but it is deafening when Brady has it) and b) two separate games about how hot it is in the dome (last year DURING the broadcast, and this year AFTER the broadcast). KEEP IN MIND - - he is a CBS employee, he can't come out in public with saying that Polian does this (or else it's goodbye CBS). But he seems to be definitely trying to get some message out there.

The dome was built in the 1980's. If Mississippi has gotten the technology for climate control and air conditioning it's a 50% chance that it's come to Indianapolis by now.

I'm actually not being a wise@$$, but don't domes have climate control? I've been to a couple for college football/basketball and they always seemed to be about the same temperature (70 degrees or so) throughout.

Why do the Colts seem to have a difficult time regulating the temperature in the dome? Maybe there are some logistical challenges that we don't know about.

With all due respect I've gone to every game held at the Superdome for the past 7 years and that's complete BS, unless we are to believe that the RCA Dome management doesnt know how to operate a thermostat.

Didn't the old Boston Garden have a problem with overheating until someone discovered somebody had permanently welded some ventilation ducts closed?

With all due respect I've gone to every game held at the Superdome for the past 7 years and that's complete BS, unless we are to believe that the RCA Dome management doesnt know how to operate a thermostat.

It's not that they don't control the temperature. Before the game they have it much cooler than the 70 somthing degrees that they want to have at game time. It's a simple way do do temperature control. You don't have to cool the place, you just maintain the temperature when it raises to the game temperature. As a result is feels warmer when the game gets going than when you first got there.

It's been warmer.

Kind of off topic, but did anyone else see the NFL Networks 16 min clip of the Pats Colts game?
During a lot of Pats possessions when they showed the crowd, it didn't even look like they were hollering and yelling as loud as they could.
Makes you wonder just how they got the stadium to be deafening when the fans in the video clips weren't even going nuts on a wide scale.

False. I have a friend and coworker (long distance, but still a coworker) from Crane, Indiana. She goes to almost every Indy game. She told me "the hottest it's been for any games I've been to, have been the last two Patriot games. I love it." She may love it, but it is what it is. Maybe you're right though. Maybe fans that go to the Patriot games had higher body temperatures.
