Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

Watson gets mugged...no call...this NFL Replay is DAMNING

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

Anyone else notice how pumped up Nance gets when the Colts make a play....and when the Pats make one he acts like he is watching bowling.

You wouldn't have known Rodney picked off Manning unless you had your eyes glued to the TV

Yep,Nantz has serious man love for Manning and the Colts. It's quite nauseating actually..I knew it was going to be one of those days starting with the Moorehead call..Two guys on the line looking down at the receiver's feet and they called him in? I knew then we were f'd all day...

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

This was not a rookie reffing crew.
The ref was in his 1st year as the
referee but it was his 12th year in the league.
I believe he was back judge or line judge.

Refs are almost always promoted from other positions. I believe it would be highly unusual for the NFL to take, say, a college ref and make him an NFL ref.

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

I'm sure it was all completely coincidental that for the highest rated game of the season, the NFL decided to put in a rookie crew with a history of calling lots of offensive PI penalties. Though in this game, there were noncalls for Colts offensive PI, and lots of phantom PI calls for the Pats.

I keep forgetting that. I take back what I said earlier.

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

Why do we continue to expect Justice from this crowd? What was this clown supposed to do? Admit that his crew bl*w? He will never admit that. Why even have this show on? It reminds me of the 1950's Russinan Communist show trials.

As has been stated elsewhere on this board, NFL crews are assigned to games at the beginning of the season by a random computerized selection, and only told of their assignments a few weeks prior, in order to make them less susceptible to gamblers.

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

Colvin blatantly held, beats his man, still being clutched and held from behind, then pushed in the back to the ground....Manning makes a 15 pass for a first down. That right there is ENOUGH.Worst officiated game I've ever seen.

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

Colts #74....just ridiculous...Coilvin beats him from the get, he follows pushing in the back looking to grab him from behind on the sack....no call...no nothing....all game long this mutt pulled this crap with NOTHING called on him....yet NOW, with the benefit of a second look, you can SEE how horribly miscalled this game was

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

Just saw the post game handshake...what EXACTLY was Colt fan *****ing and moaning about??? BB said nice game, shook his hand and went on his way....WTF do these idiotic farmers want??? A Q and A on the field? jeezus, enough with this made-up Colt fan crap on this board

Can you give a link to that?? I really wish to see that in print from a reputable source...I remember one game that Hoculy did earlier this year and how when it was announced they said that the Commish wished him to ref that game because of the opponents and that a strong official was needed..If THAT is true..no computer BEFORE the season started.....I know it HAS been stated..but I have not heard from any GOOD source.. It makes sense..but on teh other hand....why was one of the best officials in London..random?? OR do they pick some officials..and not others??

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

Oh come on guys, it's just like the NBA does it.
Assign a rookie ref crew in a highly anticipated pro game, have the calls being completely one sided.
Not only just the 150 yards vs. 24 Colt penalty yards, but the noncall offensive PI on Clark late in the game...
Then the denials by Pereira later on TV.

Cousin,
Here's the deal. There is absolutely no way that for just one mili-second they could establish that Hobbs "cut him off". Give me a break Mr. P. He ran the tape back four or five times in absolute slow motion before you could conceivably even get close to making that call and I still say baloney. Hobbs had momentum going toward Wayne. It was at the EXACT split second he turned around that Pereira said "cut-off".

I have lost all respect for this segment on that show. He would have been better off saying "bang-bang close play" (which was also B.S.), than COVERING the asses out of his boys.

Honestly, did we expect anything different? It's B.S. and he knows it. How do you go to Hobbs and apologize yet again?
Mike, Now you have made a bad call! Very disappointed. It was beyond tiki-tack

Colts 1st drive, they cross the 50 and they are "threatening" after a few "strikes" from Manning.

The Pats' second drive, they are deeper than the Colts were at the time of the above statements, and he makes it sound like they are on their own 20.

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

A few things.....1----As usual BS explanation...did NOT expect better as was said on any call you can ALWAYS find a rule to back up a bogus call...MP is WHY teh NFL stinks..Goodell NEEDS to do something about the officials...funny that the spread was ONLY a few pts more...TDonaghy influence?? Can never be done..or so some say..but after one sees bad calls and total consistency in making them for ONE side..u have to wonder...
2----MP said about the officiating crew that they only called 1 offensive PI call prior and stated that the info was incorrect....I wonder A--who provided that info..the NFL?? and B--why doesn't someone check gamebooks to see IF that is true..
3---Noticed a few of the bad calls NOT in the replay..the Bogus NZI on Warren..wanted to see if someone jumped offside..ALSO..the non-call on Faulk when Brackett held him...no replay there....Did anyone notice the play when Colvin had his helmet off?? another play not included...
4----Also noted the spear on Moss on the 55 yarder..it looked like that was certanly possible a call..given how bad things were...Also what was the PF on Light after teh interception not explained at all.....
Terrible officiating embarrassing totally...and the spot where they gave him a first down?? Horrible...

yeah...that's the one

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

Wow, I thought I had a solid understanding of Pass Interference. If Pereira says that's what Hobbs was doing, I guess I'm back to square one.

I may be too simple minded; but I can't accept the NFL putting the fix in against the Pats or anybody.

Re: Mike Pereira defends PI Call on Hobbs.

yeah...that's the one
Add another one to the missed calls...I do not remember if you see the whole play with watson and the defender..will see again...yes..thatw as bad..

YOU are the whiner. I have never heard someone cry so much about bad calls...especially when their team won. You have made about 50 posts on this. Why don't you take a lesson from the pats players. They never cried one bit about the officiating. You are playing this topic out then you complain about colts fans. Good lord you are pathetic. :bricks:
