another reason to celebrate the Colt's loss:

At 7-0,the Colt's were on a 12 game winning streak
going back to last year.

If they had beaten the Pats and gone 16-0,they would have tied the Pats 21 game winning streak.

As the number 1 seed,Indy then could have set the record in the game PRIOR to the AFCCG.

In theory,they would have won 22 in a row,before
the Pats could have stopped them in the AFC
Championship Game.

....delicious irony.....don't ya think?:rocker:

well if we run the table, and win it all, we'll have a 19 game winning steak.

so if the colts don't play us in the first 3 games next year, we can break the record before they play us again!

of course, knowing goodell, and polian, and ratings - we'll probably play them early next year.

There will be NO DOUBT(and even the haters will know, but won't admit) that the Pats dynasty will go down as the most impressive in history if they go a perfect 19-0 to tack on to 3 previous super bowls and a previous 21 game winning streak. Imagine if the Pats ran the table and then started next year with 2 more wins(at least) to give themselves two seperate 21 game winning streaks when no other team in history has even done it once? Good lord. The Pats can grab themselves a ton of records that we may never see broken in our lifetime.

Didn't the pats protect that streak once before too?

I think Pittsburgh had won a bunch in a row at one point when we played them not too long ago.

You guys are missing something big, which also hasn't been mentioned elsewhere that I have seen.

The "official" NFL streak doesn't include the postseason. 18 regular season wins in a row. We own that too, tied with the Bears from 70 years ago.

We won the final three games of last season. If we keep winning we will tie our own 18 game regular season winning streak record during week 16 this year, and can break it against the Giants the following week.

So that's another reason to look forward to week 16.

yes, Pittsburgh ended our streak during part of their own streak.

That was the year the Steelers went 15-1 and lost to the Pats in the AFC Championship game. The Steelers had won 15 in a row when we beat them.

and then we beat the Steelers in the regular season the next year to keep the NFL RECORD win streak alive as the NFL does not count postseason losses

so essentially we ended the Steelers streaks twice

Actually they own that record all their own. The Bears was at 17 straight.

Every time we win we stop someone fro breaking our 21 game winning streak, even if its 21 weeks before they would break it.

Wow.....did you consult with Stephen Hawkings before you came up with this gem?:bricks:

Still one of my favorite Pats wins of all time...The blocked field goal with the lateral...."Cancel those reservations!!!"

BB appreciates history. And if we're 15-0, we're 100% sure to have a bye locked up.

I think he'd try pretty hard to win a game 16. Hell, it would be one time the NFL put pressure on him and he agreed with it.

Rest a few guys who really need it who could go if it were a playoff game? Sure. But the passing attack guys, who anyway need to keep their timing and reflexes fresh more than anything, are very likely to be in there.

However, there are 6 more games to play before this could become a serious issue ...

one thing people always forget - if we have a bye - everybody is gonna get rest. resting for two weeks is too much - just ask the rockies!
