Did you hear, the Patriots are 9-0?

It's hard to tell with the way this board is so incessantly focused on freaking out about any percieved slights anywhere in the known universe.

Yes, nasty things are being said about the Pats. It comes with the territory, they're 9-0 and threatening every significant record in the NFL. Who cares about all the hate? You're feeding it by being so uptight... I swear, the Bills board is probably calmer than ours...

So. Take a deeeeep breath. Reeeeeeeeeelax.

And let's talk some football.

What has been, up to this point, your one favorite play of the season for the Pats?

I'm going to go with the AD pick-6 against Rivers. Brilliant defensive scheme, designed for the Chargers and their short dumpoffs to LT. Play a soft zone with the DBs and bring the MLB into the flat at the last minute. Genius.

I loved the throws to Moss in the Miami game. "Here, this one is for you to catch, and you only" x 2

have been saying this awhile...you wouldnt know we are 9-0. we get stuck with every possible negative thing that is written or we think of ...like AD where was he?

who's AD?

now I'm really gettin' scared

I mean, for god's sake. This is a season any fan couldn't even dream of, and I don't even get the sense that people are enjoying it. Who cares about crowd noise, what some ESPN dork said, or any of the other crap.

9-0. 33 TDs. 38 ppg. Randy Moss.

Let's smile for a few minutes. It's the bye week. Did anybody seriously think we were going to be in this kind of position here? Slow down and enjoy the hell out of this.

Favorite play number 2: Sammy Morris off right tackle in Cincy for 40+ yards. Great blocking.

Yes, I predicted an undefeated season as a matter of fact. :D

I thought 13-3. Hard to believe that was short changing the team, but that's how it looks, huh?

They could go under .500 in the second half of the season and finish with the same record as last year. Wow.

Unfortunately it now looks like that's Adrian Peterson, but it's also what Adalius Thomas likes to be called.

I wish the mods could have something like one major thread for Shula, one for general media venting, one for the officiating etc. I think everyone is so annoyed and upset that they are posting their own personal opinion in a new thread and it just adds to the general frustration level.

What has been, up to this point, your one favorite play of the season for the Pats?

I'm gonna go with one game that was my favorite, because I think the Chargers game was the first time everyone sort of looked around and said "holy sh*t." Add in how the team played with real anger after the spygate hysteria, the rematch with the Chargers after they had been promising revenge, and how pumped up the crowd was, and it was a really special game.

AP and AT like to be called AD??

I'm cracking up...I'm sure of it now....

Removing Circus Randy from the equation, it had to be Stallworth's TD against Dallas where he chucked that fool to the ground and then taunted Newman. I nearly crapped myself due to the awesomeness of it all.

Also, Wes Welker! 311 Yards after catch, 7 TDs and 39 1st downs.

my favorite play was when manning punched the ground when he knew it was done.

I loved Vrabel's strip sack on Jason Campbell. I could tell he loved it too, because he kept doing it over and over. :)

Good idea for a thread.

My favorite plays were the back to back TDs to Moss in the Miami game. I love how Brady threw them (or at least one of them) after a bad play (he was sacked before the second one, I believe). It was the ultimate "Oh yeah? Well, **** you!" Couple that with the announcers' reactions("Stop it!" Stop it!" to the first catch and "This is unbelievable!" to the second) and it was just awesome.

....

What frosts me most of all
is that i became so angry and outraged at the flagrant attempt to manage the game's outcome
... that i really haven't been able to deeply savor the satisfaction
that should - and normally would - follow such a remarkable comeback.
Patriots fans this year ARE ENTITLED to it.
After that game we were entitled to it.

You're right, Grizz, we's a lotta angry dudes around here.
Because a lot of bastids are out there stealing it from us.

Some of us can actually have more than one thought in a week. A night, even.

We can go to dinner and a movie, love the dinner, hate the movie, and talk about both!

Likewise, we can enjoy a win AND not like negative press.

Imagine that! :rocker:

Yeah, I get that, I'm just commenting on the tone of this board right now. It seems very tense.

You got a favorite play?

I agree with this. Stallworth's dagger in the heart against Dallas. That was an awesome play.

There has been an influx of bandwagon guys that react to the media babble like this is 2001 all over again with the disrespect stuff.

I said that this was the best team I have seen through 4 games a while back.

I can comfortably say that this is the best team I have seen through half a season. Including a lot of great teams, like the Montana 49ers. Jerry Rice equals Moss, but we have a lot of other skill players making our roster even more talented overall.

The crap officiating would have been too much for any other team in the league to overcome last weekend, but we have so much talent on offense that we can overcome these things. I believe we could have scored again in the final two minutes of that game. And the defense is always consistent at containing other teams to a very reasonable points total. Our special teams features some good weapons as well.

Yeah, we have a great team this year and I certainly enjoy it, without getting too far ahead, but just letting the season unfold.
