Wednesdays. But usually depends on what the host asks and pierrera usually skirts around the calls..i have never seen him accept a mistake.
The only time he flat out admits a mistake is when it's beyond even the most tortured of explanations AND the team it was called against won anyway (Steelers 2005 AFCC the Polamalu non INT call made worse when upheld). He explained that as an unfortunate but innocent misinterpretation of the rule by the referee.
If it's really eggregious and you still managed to win, but it was the usual non reviewable PI type uproar, he goes into his gee, golly, gosh this is a tough job mode. If it's eggregious and you lost he begins talking about how the rule book needs further clarification because judgements are still too subjective and it's not fair to compare officials calls made in real time to what we see in slo mo.
That's also his last line of defense against review 'em all. He anticipated that the % of overturns would wound official credibility even with the burden of evidence to overturn on the challenger, though he now admits it hasn't appeared to over the last several years as long as it ends up with getting it right. What wounds their credibility is the refusal to embrace the technical ability to "get it right" across the board. I understand their are some ambiguities in these rules, but that is where the major and minor deliniation could come into play - AT THE DISCRETION OF THE REFEREE ON REVIEW AFTER CONSULTING WITH THE LEAGUE REVIEW OFFICIAL WHO IS SITTING UPSTAIRS WITH HIS THUMB UP HIS ASS ONLY READY TO MAKE 2 MINUTE CALLS BY HIS LONESOME~~~~ticky tack PI calls could be modified to minor 10 to 15 yard infractions ON REVIEW as opposed to just upheld or denied.
At the end of the day think Mike is one of the good guys who would err on the side of letting them ALL play were he and his officials not at the mercy of the - you guessed it - competition committee. He clearly thought (knew) the Hobbs call in Denver was the wrong one, as he will know this week if they go there, but short of throwing his own under the bus which he won't do, all that will get the team is an oops letter two weeks after the fact. The competition committee decides what the owners will not will not consider when it comes to changing the rules of the game or interpretation thereof. That little group has flat out refused to even acknowledge the growing calls for PI reviewability.
And if he deals with the called vs. non-called disparity at all, that will be written off to broadcast feed views in real time or replay not being what any official sees given the constrictions of where he's positioned at field level. The tough one to excuse will be the completion that was clearly OOB, but on that he will say we got it right on review.
