interesting thought...

GUARD: The first one's easy: Logan Mankins (Pats) is the best at his position in all phases. In the past few years I don't think I've been fair to Steve Hutchinson (Vikings), but I still don't like him as much as my sleeper, Jason Brown (Ravens). Or maybe Chris Snee (Giants).

CENTER: I don't see much past Jeff Saturday (Colts) or Dan Koppen (Pats).

WOW, he puts Mankins ahead of Hutchinson, that is high praise indeed. But what it really shows is the drafting genius of this team, every single first round pick (except Graham, but I think we can all agree he was an excellent pick) in the BB era is not only still on the team (which you can not say for many other clubs) but is a stud for this team.

p.s. the jury is still out on Merriweather

Hard to argue with any of his Patriot choices or near-choices -- Brady, Moss, Welker, Mankins, Koppen, Vrabel, and Samuel.

Should be on the pro bowl team this year:

Brady, Moss, Mankins, Koppen, Welker
Wilfork, Warren, Vrabel, Colvin, Samuel

He's right about Mankins too guys. Logan is the best at his position, and has no weakness in his game. Even coach Belichick talked about how good Mankins is in every phase, and he's usually more inclined to give opponents more praise, than his own players.

Merriweather is in a unique position, IMO. He really is the first of the 1st round picks to come in and not be needed right away, due to being an upgrade to the current player or because of injury.

I love Will Allen and think he would be an outstanding #2 corner but to anoint him an all-pro is a litlte ludicrous. He based his decision off of one game where there was a monsoon and the game was being played on a slip and slide, I think I could've covered Plaxico in that game.

And Wes Welker an all-pro? Please.

Not true, Watson was also slowly helped along after being drafted, and Warren didn't start immediately either.

Welker's receiving stats:
651 yards - 10th in the NFL
7 receiving TD's - 5th in the NFL
61 receptions - 3rd in the NFL

Maybe you might want to keep your mouth shut where Wes Welker is concerned?

If you can't think of 5 receivers better then Wes Welker then you need to watch some more football.

Yep, because I'm a Dolphins fan, I only know what poor football is because they're the only team I watch and they've never had any good players like Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas, Ricky Williams, Dan Marino.

Oh yeah, I think Welker played for Miami last year, but I can't remember.

And you're calling Welker a great player? Wow. What does that say about Adrian Peterson?

Just think of the season we needed to have to get six or seven pro-bowlers.

Well at least in Dr. Z. opinion.

San Diego had what ...9?......11 last year? What a joke.

Just like the real world, the sportsworld embraces mediocrity and flash over smarts and hard work.

THe thing about Welker is that he legitimately is *great* at the slot position. You are right that he would be medicore as an outside receiver, but he is certainly an amazing slot guy.

Yeah....Welker played for you guys last year, was arguably the best offensive player you had, and all you idiots could concentrate on is how you screwed us out of draft picks and how we overpaid.

You all look lamer each passing week.

Watson was injured in week two of his rookie season after holding out, if I recall correctly. Warren didn't start but was part of the rotation much like Mike Wright is now.

Couldn't agree more, thank you. The truth is Wes is good at what he does but he is what he is, a slot receiver. It's like giving a middle relife man a Cy Young award.

Are you saying Welker is better then Ronnie Brown?
