It's so simple.
So some people were talking about what rule is going to change in the offseason because of the Pats.

Well we saw what it will be in the colts game.

It was the Defensive PI rule in 2003 -2004
Now it's going to be the Offensive PI rule in 2007.
Look for a "point oof emphasis" on this in the offseason.

Although this rule could seriouly hurt Reggie waynes game.

I think they are going to change the Indiana Sodomy Law so Peyton can start doing Preperation H commercials.

That's the thing about Polian. He's not going to lobby for a rule change if it adversely affects his team.

That one is easy...

If a pass is thrown more that 30 feet high into the air, the defense can call for a fair catch.

Perfect since it doesn't affect Manning and his "rocket arm".

I thought it might be a Slaughter Rule.

If your team is up by 10 and it's the beginning of the 4th quarter, you win, and it's retroactive, and it only applies if the Colts are the team that's winning.

And you guys say Colts fans are whiney. ;)

Dude, consider the following:

1) Pats beat Colts in playoffs
2) Colts complain about Pats defenders illegally holding/hitting receivers downfield
3) Polian is on competition committee
4) Competition committee issues a "point of emphasis" on illegal contact
5) Colts win 3 straight games against Pats
6) Colts win Super Bowl

These are all facts. Everyone was playing by the same set of rules and how they were enforced. That enforcement didn't favor the Colts' style of play so a "point of emphasis" (no league approval needed) was issued to force the refs to call the game more to the Colts liking. You expect to have that happen and not get crap because of it?

The funny part is, the game on Sunday wasn't called tight at all. Only one illegal contact (Rodney of course) the whole game. Look at the tape and you see Colts' defenders with their hands all over Moss, Watson, Faulk downfield. And look at the result...a well played 24-20 game. Not an Arena League score with defenders sucking their thumbs for comfort.

I actually hope they go back to calling illegal contact the way it used to be enforced, even though that likely hurts the Patriots chances. I think it makes for a better product on the field.

5. They Pats beat the Colts two more times with the "rule of emphasis" in place. The next two time in Foxboro, the Pats simply got outplayed. In the AFCCG, the Colts got some breaks there way and the Pats couldn't seal it.

However, Bill Polian is a b**** and the Colts players complain after every loss to ANY team. They always find an excuse why they didn't win.
