Did anybody see this flagrant hit? It knocked Ed Reed senseless.

There has to be a fine for this.

The announcers said nothing.

yeah, he'll most likely be fined a few k's

But Hines isn't dirty, he's gritty. Arbitrary distinctions made by fat, clueless sportswriters ARE a determining factor in these sorts of things, you know. Especially when the contrast is Ed Reed. Nothing against Reed, but Reed = Miami = thug, of course.

He should have been ejected! It was like going up to someone and punching them in the mouth.

And we saw only one shot of it! I mean, they would have shown that about a million times if it was Rodney.

What a bunch of wipes.

I am biased towards the Steelers, but if Hines were a Patriot, we'd love him silly. I think he maybe the single most liked player in the NFL...and if he were dirty, people would call him on it. He is a normal sized guy who is tough as a rock and plays with a smile on his face. I thought his hit was aggressive but overall clean. Regardless, I'd hate to see him do it to Asante or Rodney or any of our boys.

This ain't it, but it was very similar.

It caught reed totally off guard - It looked like reed was following the action off to the left. But ward hit him right under the chin. And, ward knew right off the bat that he had knocked him out. He started motioning to the Ravin's bench I think. (only saw it once real quick.)

This is ward earlier in the year. Similar.

Dude, clean? He walked right up to him and led with his helmet and hit reed under the chin.

I don't know dude. I might need to get my eyes examined then.

*shrug*, I figure I'd feel the same way about Hines that I feel about Rodney. Good player, a lot of questionable tactics, at the end of the day I like him, largely because he's a Patriot. The difference is that Rodney is regarded as a dirty POS in a lot of quarters, while Ward is called a great, gritty player.

It's an arbitrary distinction, perpetuated by the monkeys on typewriters over at ESPN. After all, put infinite monkeys on infinite typewriters, and, one time, you'll get Shakespeare. Most of the rest of the time, you get a cover story for the WWL.

Clean would've been him just going chest to chest and arms close to the shoulder without lowering and just using his weight to block him, this wasn't that clean, just like the one from the youtube video that got posted.

Exactly. Again, we only saw it once, but that looked like something that is gonna get some air time tomorrow.

I couldn't believe they put reed back out there too. He was out.

I saw an interview with Strahan who said that Hines Ward was the dirtiest player in the league

Yeah he did signal "man down" right away. It was bad but not flagrant IMO.
