Is anyone else seeing their posts listed out of order within a thread and with the wrong time stamp? I just made a post at 3:03 p.m. EST and it is listed as being posted at 10 a.m. The time zone settings in my message board CP and on my computer are both correctly set to EST.

edit: This post was made at 3:09 PM EST and is listed as 10:09 AM.

Re: ATTN MODS: Posting time problems?

Looks like Patsfans has developed time displacement technology. I wonder if this could fix that debacle from last January?

Re: ATTN MODS: Posting time problems?

I've noticed this problem too. The board seems to be working a bit screwy today.

Re: ATTN MODS: Posting time problems?

PatsFans is more popular than ever. Over 1,700 people were browsing the forum at one point yesterday. We had a few outages during and after the game but they didn't last long. Today, however, it seems the board has collapsed completely. Time for a server upgrade methinks.

Re: ATTN MODS: Posting time problems?

I believe the Mods have combined some threads

Re: ATTN MODS: Posting time problems?

I started a similar topic a while ago but I cant find it now. I guess it was deleted?
If it was deleted a quick answer to my question I had posted would have been great

OMG I noticed this to, Its been doing this at www.indystar.com for 6 months now and they still haven't fixed it, when it happened to me here I had to check and make sure I wasn't on Indystar..

Re: ATTN MODS: Posting time problems?

i've noticed a problem... in the past a lot of my insightful posts have been deleted or moved for no reason.

I'm just trying to explain it in "football terms" and "X's and O's" for the football fans here.

I like to "break the game down" and "coordinate the offensive adjustments" every once in a while.

Then sometimes i like to do a little "pregame with the statistical breakdowns" and "evaluate the talent margins" of players on the practice squad.

umm yeah.

What do you mean by deleted or moved?

They're probably being merged. When a thread is merged, it leaves a redirect that says "Moved: THREAD TITLE." But it links to the thread it was merged with.

well i've had some deleted.... like the one i made which a MOD responded by making a joke out of the fact that i have a pinched nerve in my neck... saying it doesn't matter if i lose feeling b/c there is "nothing above the neck". Which i found very cruel... not to mention the fact that he always complained about people wishing injuries.....

But that last post was mostly just a joke. typing absolute nonsense, right after complaining about posts being moved and deleted.

Re: ATTN MODS: Posting time problems?

A poster Pm'ed me about this and I forwarded the PM to Ian. Ian is the only one who can get this fixed to my knowledge.

Hey Mods - Are the times of new posts all screwed up tonight?

Sure looks like it - Trouble with this?

Although its nothing major but just noticed it

Yeah, I'm experiencing the same problems right now. I posted a reply in a thread, and my post ended up being the first in the thread (posting time was 5 hours off, which also happens to be the EST offset from GMT). I deleted my post, which also happens to delete the entire thread, so I then had to move the good posts to a new thread, undelete them, and then post again. Since I posted 5 minutes later, the post then became the second in the thread and said I posted it at 10:07 AM when it fact it's 3:07 PM EST.

Check it out here:

Yesterday, I also had problems using the search feature to merge threads (had to about 20+ times yesterday), and so I had to do it by finding each thread in the forum history. Fun.

I'll pass this on to Ian.

UPDATE: See, I posted this at 3:10 PM and it's saying I posted at 10:10 AM.

It's 3:13 EST right now and the board is definitely in Funkytown. Threads are disappearing and the timeclock is way off. I'll PM Ian and hopefully there will be a fix asap.

I posted an announcement about this. I hope my temporary fix (having as many people as possible set their times to GMT) will work. What it can't fix however are old posts that are already out of order.

I have been noticing a bunch of problems but figured the mods would clean it up whenever:

1.) Slow board
2.) Threads getting mixed up
3.) Cold and hot threads being mixed (Not merged)
4.) Posts listed out of order
5.) Time stamps off
6.) Invalid server at times

It goes on and on... seems much better now, must of been a network hiccup or something.

Keep up the good work mods, I love this website because you guys / Ian's team keep it running smoothly. All these problems seem to of been fixed within a few hours.

I'm really not sure what happened Sunday/Monday but yeah, I know I couldn't get in/stay in quite alot. I do know that the board broke new records again on # of people online at the same time, so that may have had something to do with it.

Ian would probably be able to tell you more about it.

Re: ATTN MODS: Posting time problems?

Actually, the time stamp is going on still. It says Pats1 was the last to post in this but messy's post is at the bottom. Same with a few of the political forum posts

Right, my post technically was the last, but because I hadn't changed my time zone yet (see the forum announcement), my post was listed 5 hours behind.

...and bring our cheerleader thread back from the dead.
