I know... there's already a thread on this. But what an idiot. The Pats D fought off 2 horrible PI calls, plus a flukey 72-yard screen pass, and gave up only one solid finishing drive. Plus they shut down Manning when they needed to. That ain't average, Tom "F-U" Jackson.

if Tom Jackson keeps this up hes gonna get.... JACKED UP!

well he also kept saying the colts had their starters missing. havent the pats ever beaten the colts with their starters ?
how about the 2004/05 games in foxboro.? how many starters did we miss...light,harrison come to mind immediately.

The Patriots did a poor job of tackling in the first half. Even with that in mind, and even going up against a juggernaut offense, the D held said juggernaut to 20 points, some of which were a direct result of HUGE and blatantly wrong pass interference penalties.

This is all silly and not really even worth too much debate.

Apparently it only matters when the Colts have injuries.

And average? This Pats defense is not the best Belichick defense ever, and yes it is an older and a slower defense, but average is ridiculous. Which defenses are good then, if the Pats are just average? Geez.

when was the last time we played and finished any big game with all our best players? i just take it for granted we will be missing some players...the colts are not used to that.

I never listen to fat, blubbering eggplants

Tom can say what ever he wants. In the end the Patriots will win the Superbowl and it won't matter what you call our defense, we will be champs.

This just in, Tom Jackson is still pissed he got the big F YOU from Bill when he tried to shake his hand before the Super Bowl in 2001. :bricks:

The only two people on that show worth listening to are Parcells and Keyshawn.

Remember in 2003 after the Pats cut Milloy and after the shutout opening game loss to the Bills, Tom Jackson said that all the Pats players hate Belichick because of it and it was definitely not the case. TJ doesn't know what hes talking about, and people believe him just because hes on ESPN

i love how he mentions injuries this year for Colts but doesnt mention ours last year..i never heard him

hes a Patriot hater..simple

um. Our D didnt look average..but it wasnt a championship type D. We have the ability..were in position..but we dont finish plays. Tackle the guy when we first make contact and were a top 3 D. simple

Love "Flying In A Blue Moon ",BTW Satch

have to get a petition going to get smerlas on espn as an analyst. heck he has more pro bowls then most of the analysts on there.
the only thing is..i dont know how they could keep him from plugging his steakhouse !

If our D looked average in the win, what does that make the Colts D in the loss?

If the D is just average than the Colt's O must really suck!!!

those 2 go back a ways. BB was an assistant in denver when TJ was there and rumor is that TJ treated him like dog poop b/c BB used to tell him basically what he tells players now, "if you do this, you will do well".

You know the rest of the story.

Its closer to BBs best defense than his average.
We are allowing only 16.3 ppg. That works out to 261, which is only about a point and a half above the franchise record. AND, we still have cold weather games, we have played pretty much every good offense on the schedule. With Buff, Miami, Jets, Balt, Pitt, Philly, and the giants left, the offenses left on our schedule are not nearly as good as the ones we have faced.
It is not AT ALL beyond reason that we could break the franchise points allowed record.

Oh, and we just held the Colts to 20 in Indy, which BB defense did better than that?

If the Pats D looked average holding PayMeATon to 20 points, then what does that make the Colts D?

I really care about Jackson's opinion I mean after the profound insight he had in 2003 saying that Belichick had lost control of the team how can anyone NOT take him seriously?
