I hate this. They better change the Philly game to 1:00 the following Sunday

This is great news for the Bills. The Bills need all the help they can get and being on primetime, in front of the nation with Michaels and Madden announcing, this will help the franchise.

The Philly game will be moved back and FOX will get it.

Two weeks later the Steelers come to Foxboro. I bet CBS uses one of it's five protections on Steelers-Pats, although if they don't, it's the clear favorite to get promoted to SNF.

Re: Pats/Bills game moved to Sunday Night

I'm not as worried about our travel plans (we're driving and already have our hotel for Sunday night), but we're going to have to plan for a cold night game...better pack some extra firewood....

Re: Pats/Bills game moved to Sunday Night

It sucks because it gives the Bills more time to plan for the Pats, diminsihing the effectiveness of our bye.

It gives the Bills an extra 7 hours. Not a big deal.

As to why this game was picked on not the Steelers game--well, networkds do have a right of refusal and it may have been exercised on the NE/Pitt game.

Re: Pats/Bills game moved to Sunday Night

As a Patriots fan who does not live in the New England area it is a bit of luck for me. Now I can actually watch one of their games, as opposed to just seeing the highlights on Sportscenter.

I hear ya, I live in Tampa and this is the best news I've heard all day. Now I get to see another game that I probably would not have been able to otherwise.

Thank you NFL, you crooked bastards you.

Re: Pats/Bills game moved to Sunday Night

Add me to the list of people who have no idea why the nations wants to see Pats-BILLS!

For that matter, if you total up all the Sunday night and Monday night appearances of the Eagles this year (and NYG and Cowboys) it's staggering. The Eagles are one of the least interesting teams going.

Re: Pats/Bills game moved to Sunday Night

I would assume the following weeks game, 11/25 vs. Philly will be changed to a day game. I can't see 2 NBC games in a row.

I agree, thats weird that they would want Buffalo over Philly

Flex scheduling : Pats/Bills moved to SNF

Patriots/Bills game got moved to Sunday Night Football displacing Chicago/Seattle.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- The Patriots' run at a perfect record is going prime time.

The league pushed back the start of New England's game at the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 18 to 8:15 p.m. EST and it will move to NBC from CBS. Originally, Patriots-Bills was set for 1 p.m. EST on CBS and Chicago at Seattle was the night game.

Chicago will now play at Seattle at 4:15 p.m. EST on Fox.

Re: Buffalo game flexed to prime time

I figured that would be the PIT game. That's now 3 night games in a row unless they move the Philly game to a day game which would seem likely since I've never heard of a team having 3 night ones in a row.

Re: Buffalo game flexed to prime time

Nordy, thanks for posting this actually BIG NFL story. We just had a huge victory and while I understand all the referee-gate and audio-gate stuff holds some appeal, it would be nice if the focus could move toward, ya know, ACTUAL FOOTBALL NEWS.

Glad to hear this game will be on National TV. Hope they find a reason to move the Pats-Giants game off on NFLN in week 17, too.

Re: Buffalo game flexed to prime time

Didn't some of the local affiliates (channel 5) carry an NFL Network Pats game last year? I'm willing to bet if the Pats are 15-0 they will work something out with local cable operators in the area to show the game for those without NFL Network. Then again maybe they figure they can make the $.

I wouldn't be surprised if every game the Pats play will be either a Sunday night or Monday night game if their still undefeated. If their still undefeated, count on that Pittsburgh game to be in primetime.

I hope your right because I have a committment during the day and it would be the only home game I miss this year, if they move it then I'm there, and of course it's all about me:rolleyes:

NFLN games are shown in the local markets.

Re: Buffalo game flexed to prime time

The Giants game will be locally broadcast around here.. yipee.. :singing:

Re: Buffalo game flexed to prime time

Maybe I'm in the minority but I hate this. Number one for selfish reasons--I just like the feeling of 1:00 on Sunday, football time. But I think it can also slightly mess with a team, mess with their timing. Although I guess that last point is sort of moot, since they'll probably be on in primetime constantly now.

Re: Buffalo game flexed to prime time

I don't really understand why they ar emoving this game to primetime. I would think that Bears Seahwaks would be a more evenly-matched, enetertaining game. The Bills have won a few game since they played teh Pats but they still aren't that great.

IF the Pats are undefeated going into that game, and the NFL doesn't find some way to give it national exposure, that's a HUGE bonehead, lame-ass non-move.
